looking to replace an old makita cordless drill, i was thinking to get a new makita bare unit and another fresh battery but for similar money i could get a dewalt drill and two batteries and the dewalt seems to have higher torque spec.

had a look at millwaukee mega spec but more than i want to spend, plus i have a corded sds for serious drilling.

so any thoughts ?

Seriously good value and out performs a lot of the top brands. I have millwaukee 18v impact driver and the einhell impact gun out performs the millwaukee.

Makita for me,got all the obvious builder/carpentry stuff plus a fair few ope gardening tools now,never had a bad battery or bare tool either,so thats 25 batts and 20 odd tools too.

well i got a dewalt one today, not top of the range but seems ok, they did have the einhal one on offer with an impact driver too,was kinda tempted but find the noise of the impacts a bit annoying.

the milwaukee one was there too looked great but bit steep for my needs ( not trade, just heavy diy.)

still not sure whether i should have got another makita but il see how this one goes.

I am in need of a decent extendable pole pruning set and have narrowed it down to these two. 
I am familiar with the AUS kit and this one has a Silky saw attachment, but I seem to remember the lopper was always a bit naff. 
Mr Bolam recommended the Jameson set, aluminium instead of fibreglass and not sure on the generic saw attachment but they look very well made. 
The price difference isn’t an issue, just want to get the set that performs best, anyone had experience with both brands, pros and cons?

My Jameson poles aren’t ali mate.

I’m impressed with the lopping head more and more.

Can’t comment on the AUS stuff, but a lot of the utility teams seem to run their kit so it must be pretty good.

the price difference - Jameson set needs a pole bag, doesn't show on Buxtons listing, so add another 100 or so if you want the bag

Agree the Jameson double pulley pruner is good, haven't used the saw blade, would take the HT131 - I'm not out rodding trees for utilities
