STIHL has unveiled its most powerful battery-powered cut-off machine to date. The TSA 500, with 16”/350mm cutting wheel, is the latest addition to STIHL’s AP System range. It offers a power output of 4.2kW and provides an equivalent cutting performance to the petrol-powered TS 500i, with 3.9kW mechanical performance. To deliver this performance, it requires two AP 500 S batteries, powering a 72-volt system. Featuring an adjustable magnesium guard, the tool is ideal for construction, landscaping, and rescue service professionals. Built for optimised handling for tougher cutting tasks, the TSA 500 provides smooth operation and low vibration, allowing for precise guidance of the tool. With its 350mm cutting disc, the machine allows for accurate and ergonomic cutting of a range of materials, including stone, structural steel, metal and composite materials, to depths of 125mm. The new machine boasts an electronic control panel and a simple control system. The TSA 500’s STIHL Power Boost technology ensures optimal performance and consistent cutting power throughout its runtime, comparable to that of petrol alternatives. The tool also provides consistent power for 20-40 minutes, depending on the material being cut, when used with two AP 500 S batteries. Being battery operated, the TSA 500 is particularly suited to indoor cutting tasks or situations where the simplicity of a battery machine excels. In addition, its run-out break, with recuperation function, feeds the energy generated during braking, back into its batteries, for maximum efficiency and productivity. This also means the cutting wheel comes to a stop in less than 4 seconds after use. What’s more, for optimum tool performance and longevity, the TSA 500’s newly developed magnetic filter protects the machine from the particles generated during metal cutting operation. For ease of use, users can select one of three power modes according to task via its digital controls, with a modern display, which also provides information on the tool’s battery charge level. With its built-in connected function, the tool can also integrate seamlessly into the STIHL Connected digital fleet management system, which delivers up-to-date information on usage and maintenance status, reducing downtime. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the TSA 500 is IPX 4-rated, making it safe to use in wet conditions. For more information on the STIHL TSA 500, visit www.stihl.co.uk.

I'm never sure if you're joking or not. I fear though that what you may say in jest will turn out to be true. The disinformation spread by our very own little influencer and Grok will be accruing more than a few votes for Reform and similar movements. Both should be unplugged henceforth.

Got it in three, no clues thank you MarkieG Wordle 1,641 3/6* ⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟨⬜🟨⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Three good points all. I wonder how much of that bias is due to Robbie Gibb's influence behind the scenes at the BBC. Reform get many times more airtime than Green. Whilst Orange get virtually no mention at all, despite 12 times more seats.

After watching a couple of videos on Youtube I see that I was being incredibly stupid. Of course after removing the cylinder head on a Briggs and Stratton you are down to the main body of the engine and crankcase. I was thinking of the bike engines that I worked on when I was a kid. Taking apart Triumph 500cc Speedtwin and T100 engines where you took off the cylinder head and then the barrel and the crankcase was a separate entity so you could access the piston rings. Anyway so it has to be engine out or the scrapyard.

My apologies Peter, I assumed you’d been around longer than you have. I had a crazy thread on my 391 back in 2015 which made me ‘semi famous’ as the Arbtalk defender of the MS391. 😂 As it turns out it was 5 years before you joined so no good reason for you to get the joke 😄

I watched that a while back an excellent performance by tom hanks.

Absolutely gopping all day here. Yellow warning for rain, probably not as bad as forecast on the day. Really slowed my tricky job, could have done with a second coat, or maybe a third!

First cassette exchanged, no questions, known issue at the time, second one had David Turner saying NO WAY as they thought the problem had been resolved but this time the crack was visible so the exchange was made. THEN.... THEN... I heard a familiar and unwelcome ting a ling a ling a ling again. Felt like crying having to take it all apart AGAIN only to find a piece of fence wire as the culprit.

I remember a couple of years ago mother in law going to great trouble sorting a vegetarian alternative for a vegetarian who was in attendance, well they are more beef than nut roast, or what ever it was.

Apparently .. Chainsaws were first invented for childbirth. It was developed in Scotland in the late 18th Century to help aid and speed up the process of symphysiotomy (widening the pubic cartilage) and removal of disease-laden bone during childbirth. It wasn’t until the start of the 20th Century that we started using chainsaws for woodchopping.

Clam shell inspiration! I’ve never thought of that before!

I'd risk it . Make sure the polarities are correct then gently make the last contact, if there's a huge flash then I'd think twice. -

And playing music or podcasts off your phone you can hardly hear them once a machine starts. Plus sides very easy to set up, as in turn it on and it automatically connects to the other procoms. Volume between lids is decent.

The above statue thing is a bit shit, this one works better. https://makerworld.com/en/makerlab/imageTo3d?from=makerlab Anyway thought I'd test it on a 2511 exhaust cover. It didnt like a white background so found a pic of a dirty used one off ebay. Very unlikely it will be correct but Im printing it anyway. I can then scale and adjust to fit. Edit, the result The size is quite far off, 20% and more in depth. I'll try again using a video instead of single image, maybe something simpler.

Any ideas? Very old western red cedar, multi stemmed from about 1m above ground. These fruiting bodies are on one stem about 1.5m above ground. Tree has lost a few big limbs in recent years and has just a little bjt of dieback in crown. Looks ok otherwise.

I'm afraid. They are just Leylandii, sorry. (Added the correct punctuation here now that the thread appears to have run its course.)
