  2. I got the venom 22 ton as it suited my current needs, I agree it isn't the fastest splitter out there, but at 72 I probably would soon tire of trying to keep up with the fastest even the wife can use it too, I used an axe for much of my younger days, cheap, didn't require any trailer, and if you got busy just buy another one and get a buddy to double the output I think if I was starting again I would seriously look at a full processor type machine. but I suppose it depends on the level of production you need, I only split for my own personal use these days, not sure the outlet is as good as it once was, I expect location plays a part, as does burning regulations.
  3. I corrected it. Which one? That has nothing to do with what police forces do at possible flash points and everything to do with whataboutary. You need a dictionary
  4. Sure Just like,well....practically everywhere else on the planet. Sound system it is too, keeps the bludgers out. I have never had recourse to public funds in any of the four countries I needed a work visa for.
  5. I think that is a movement limiter . Mine is a MK 1.5 so older but does not have an AV mount in that position .
  6. When got quotes for timber prices last winter they were that high I don't think it's viable to buy it in personally unless you don't value your time or can sell it for a lot more than I'm able to.

  8. Been asked to install some metal cable bracing putting in 20mm bolts in mature beech. I will probably need a 2ft drill bit. Haven't done it for 20 years and used to use a petrol power drill. My question is would a modern battery drill be up to the task or am I asking too much. Thanks for any help.
  9. I will have a look, thank you. appreciate the reply, Lee

  13. Working in Germany I found plenty of bullets. The Armour piercing ones, ruin your chain.Berlin there were roof tile chunks in most of the old trees. Once in Bergen by the Docks , I felled a tree full of shrapnel. When we were working on lowering the stump and cutting around the splinter a German guy asked what we were doing. As the chunk finally came out I gave it to him,he was over the moon. Considering the effort his fore fathers had gone to in order to get that bit of metal to Norway in the first place.

  16. Dunno about the solar panel thing. The only experience I have of solar panels is that my parents had it fitted years ago and they hardy get any money back from it. Its broken a couple of times and each time it seems to cost a grand to sort it out which wipes out any savings that they have made over the previous years. They are old and probably being fleeced but that's not my problem
