Each time I've had this on other saws, my air filter has unexpectedly become caked in shite, it can be suprising how quick it can cake up. How old is your fuel? More than a couple weeks, tip it out and a get a fresh mix to rule that out. Next thing to check is a fresh NGK sparky and check the gap as they are rarely the specified 0.5mm ( on my other saws, I dont know if thats the same for a 151).

Good call. Not something I'm familiar with, in fact, as I'm almost entirely working with broadleaves, this is the first experience. Many thanks!

Cost of planting young trees etc
Midpit replied to Midpit's topic in Forestry and Woodland management
Yes, I am working on loosening the soil mechanically to give the new roots a head start on the turf roots. Mounding is better. I saw a mounding machine with a three-cornered rotor system. Works well, by the look of it. Definitely quicker hand planting then. Thanks.- 6 replies

If you are down to say 15% on the meter just take the boards indoors if you can a let them slowly finish off drying they will be atuned to your house that way if you dont have the space its either carry on with air dry or find a kiln ,vacume kilns are cool but not many around

Also try contacting local companies, if you want regular supplies then, as above, you need to become a good tip site for a local company and they are best contacted directly. Some tips: Logs are processed into sizes ready to burn once dry, these are not going to be free as that takes work. If you are a going to be a tip site you need to be asking for wood not logs (arb arisings is the term used here). As above be flexible. Despite what the internet will tell you all wood burns(!) and releases the same amount of energy per unit weight when dry (when using a wood burner). Less dense wood does take more space but generally that is not so much of an issue (also soft wood generally dries quicker, which can be handy). In fact some softwoods are really good wood to burn once you figure out how to best split them (leave the faster burning woods in bigger chunks).

Good morning Arbtalkers 😊

Thanks Shavey, lets see if L&S can get the smaller parts but it's good to know you've got a whole unit so I can get the saw up and running anyhow.

There's a lot of madness like that in the animal kingdom. Think of the life cycles of Eels or Salmon for instance. Or Newts hauling themselves out of nice cosy ponds to treck across fields and roads in the blind hope of finding another pond the same. Eels have crazy lifecycles. I thought they could travel a long way over ground, but this says thousands of miles. This map solves a century-old mystery about eels - Big Think BIGTHINK.COM For the first time ever, scientists were able to link eel migration to their presumed spawning grounds in the Sargasso Sea.
