  1. Past hour
  2. Done a couple of smaller ones recently, split the wood up in the same afternoon while it's still soft and then seems to dry ok. Otherwise if I can't split it straight away I just dump it to biomass place, no point messing around once it's gone hard.
  3. and another one. and right in front of her father it appears!!! A migrant from a taxpayer-funded asylum hotel has been charged with attempting to kidnap a child The Sudanese man appeared in court accused of attempting to take the girl of ten while she was with her father. Edris Abdelrazig, 30, in Stockport, Gtr Manchester, was arrested for allegedly trying to lure away the girl on July 13. He had been living in a three-star, £100-a-night hotel in Manchester suburb Wilmslow. Abdelrazig appeared before JPs on July 15 He was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester crown court on August 26. It comes after claims of a cover-up because police told councilors in Nuneaton, Warks, to avoid disclosing that two suspects in the rape of a 12-year-old girl were asylum seekers.
  4. POssibly better in wet (live) wood. I've never done 60cm, longest is 40cm. But I have wrecked one going through 2 x 3" very hard old joists.
  5. In my experience when they go downhill it's almost free-fall. Never known one to bounce back. It's like an almost complete shutdown of their vascular system.
  6. And you went back for a second.
  7. I am not a miserable old bloke, but with nearly 30 years experience under my belt. I was giving a 33 year old farmer with no experience my advice. It would be the same advice I would give anyone,at 33 working for about £10 and hour wouldn't be what I would call a clever career move.He was asking for advice, not whether he could actually do the job. The man is looking for opinions on his options, arb being one of probably many jobs he could go for. Can you remember all those ex forces new grads that Kingswood produced?
  8. A weird comment from Trump over the weekend, word to the effect of "I didn't order Epstein to be killed". To be fair, neither did I but that isn't a thought that has ever crossed my mind to make a public denial about it. Thinking further about Trumps best pal, odd isn't it that the prison he died in only has a single CCTV camera that didn't quite point at Epsteins cell, no cameras pointing at the perimeter or gates that would show anyone coming or going, say an hour either side of his suicide - one for the MAGA conspiracy theorists there then, why arn't we being shown those video feeds as well (I'd be assuming any 'killer' wouldn't have been a prison staff member there of course). This story keeps going on and on, longer than the 24 hours press interest I thought it would do.
  9. Not a planning expert but I suspect you're fine on the tree btw. Enjoy it. Plant it far enough inside your boundary that your roots and branches don't encroach onto your neighbours' land as it reaches full size.
  10. As a new business owner, I discovered a VAT calculation issue on invoices. Over the past two months, I have overestimated VAT, resulting in a total excess of ₱20,000-₱30,000. My accountant, who charges a monthly retainer fee of ₱10,000 (plus VAT), did not identify the issue. I'm not sure if they should review these computations or just record them. Can I recover the excess VAT I paid?
  11. Morning, wet through the night but blue sky for now. hatches are battened down, long distance Robo job postponed and a day of not very much. but fingers crossed for some windblown tree work as im bored and skint !
  12. Three here as well Wordle 1,507 3/6* 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  13. Bit far for me but it would have gone if it was round here.
  14. Today
  15. Bill, that has been my point all along, sexual offences are not excusive to a single race / religion / gender but the ones reported frequently on this thread are exclusively biased towards a single race, religion and gender.
  16. There were rumours they had the CS100 drawings in their office. It isn't overly surprising though, it has been in production for 15 years and arguably the bench mark chipper in 4" gravity feed. We have mentioned the CS100 discharge chute to the GM factory, their swivel is a good design.
  17. Morning all. pissing down cats and dogs here. stay safe

  22. No I get it, you have, yet again, diverted the thread. 1, sexual offences is not all about children. 2, "which needs verifying further" you are either not fully reading/understanding the article or you are scapegoating due to your biases.
  23. Yes, thats correct. Altough I have read the document and the articles only refer to the property structure and any hard areas within the gardens.
  24. Yes, very easy to heat the auger up and then tie it in a knot.
  25. . VersaDrive® TurboTip from Holemaker Technology HOLEMAKER-TECHNOLOGY.COM VersaDrive® TurboTip Impact drill bits are stepped tip bits that drill at twice the speed of standard bits without... these? don’t see them recommending and impact driver over a drill there.
  26. Good morning Arbtalkers 😊
  27. I couldn’t agree more. If you want to pursue a new career mate don’t let some miserable old blokes on a forum tell you it’s not a good idea. Can you earn more money in a different trade? Sure, but comparing salaries with other trades is pointless. If he wanted to be a bricklayer he wouldn’t be on here. Comparison is the thief of joy. Plenty of people in this industry who are earning great money and they didn’t all start at 18 and work for 20 years before turning a profit. If you want to do it. Do it.
