  6. I think this stove has two air controls: 1. primary air control. This lets in lots of air through the front. Use this is to get the stove lit and not for extended burning. 2. Airwash. This lets in less air in a strip across the door. This flows downwards and keeps the glass door clean and then cycles through the fire. If the primary control wont close, yes this will disrupt the airwash and the door will get dirty. But also thats not safe as the stove could overheat. query with the installer.
  7. I don't think so . The glass is more likely to go black with less air rather than more . The usual cause of blackening glass is burning wood that is not properly seasoned . The flame is trying to drive the moisture out of the wood so a non complete combustion is occurring . Don't burn green or wet wood .

  10. If the factory tow points are gone, both options can work depending on your fabrication skills. Making mounts for a standard towbar keeps it MOT-friendly, while a custom one can be stronger if built properly. I'd go with option 1 for simplicity and compliance.

Off to Tytherleigh near Axminster for a few days so will get a couple of visits to Charmouth looking for fossils if the weather stays fair. 21. Morning, got a 2 hour drive to the job this morning, I could do it in in 90 mins going over the mountain rd but it’s clutch screamer up, brake burner down with a lot of chances of slipping off the rd in the middle, so going to take the slightly not a steep way round. It’s been monsoon since 10pm last night and still lashing.

    Cambium Savers

Nothing wrong with my splices. It wasnt about saving money but learning and practising the skill of splicing. The rings were bought from HoneyBrothers who are one of the largest UK arb shops, or perhaps one of the most well known. They are rated, 25kN parts from what looks to be a reputable brand. Have you looked up their history? They were set up by a ex ISC guy. They are not a traditional manufacturer as they do not make anything themselves. Anyway, I'd suggest chrome is not very well suited to connectors, particually aluminium where the metal underneath is soft. The chrome tends to become rough and flake off. In this case I believe impact against the tree or between the rings has caused the roughness. Polished them smooth, problem solved, will be using them tomorrow. I have some steel Kong biners that are chromed, so AtHeight are not the only ones. It can flake off of steel too. Its just odd as, annodising is much cheaper, more durable, looks better, doesnt cause any issues when dented or wearing through.
  26. Looks like damage from the rings rubbing on each other to me.

This At Height lot need a bit of scrutiny. They've sprung up from nowhere, most noteworthily offering a biner that looks a lot like an ISC Big Dan. And I can't for an instant imagine why ISC would be licensing or OEM manufacturing for them. And they've sold kram some bizzare aspartame chrome plated cambium saver ring.
