  3. Morning all, Not going to try working today. Wobbling around in Mewp at max height needing another metre to reach the top of the conifer not ideal. Especially when soaking wet and numb hands in slippery gloves and a limited drop zone. Looks much better tomorrow, then wet again Wednesday and Thursday.
  4. Morning all . Oi oi Les mate . Lets have you ! 🙂

  6. As much as this is devastating and could have been worse I don't think people being armed is the answer. Mass shootings such as this are such a rare thing in aus and the UK. Just look at The USA.
  7. Don’t really do loading trailers etc but it’s just incredible for grab work. You loose so much height on a normal machine with a grab and rotator. I wish someone would make a triple boom with a 2.7 tonner.
  8. Ok you win! A beautiful machine! The Mecalac isn’t bad either…😂
  9. Today
  10. Good Morning all. Bit blowy overnight...looks set to continue. Have a good start to the week.
  11. And playing music or podcasts off your phone you can hardly hear them once a machine starts. Plus sides very easy to set up, as in turn it on and it automatically connects to the other procoms. Volume between lids is decent.

  13. Forecast wet all day 🎉 The coat will be alright, will have to take my farm bib and brace out as some protection on the legs, probably just be sweaty on the lower half.
  14. Does sound blustery here. The forecast was awful in the North West today! How many have this as the last week before the break? Away down to Gloucestershire Wiltshire today. Might even nab a tea at Jase's on the way back! Be good folks! Roar, Nib, Aga.

  16. I finished the work on the head gasket yesterday. I was pleased that it started immediately. Only trouble is it's exactly the same. Pouring smoke from the same cylinder. What a disappointment. I suppose the only remaining possibility has to be the piston rings. Does anyone know if I remove the head again, will I be able to access the rings by removing the next section of the cylinder barrel without stripping down the engine completely to remove the big ends and release the piston completely. I think that would be a step too far for me. Changing the subject for a moment. When I ordered the gaskets I needed online I chose a company at random on the internet called Briggs Bits. I put in the order at 2.20 pm and I received a dispatch notice at 2.45 pm. They were sent Royal Mail 48hour tracked post. Received within two days. Super efficient service so I would thoroughly recommend them if you need any parts. I don't think I have ever had a turn around service of twenty minutes before. Getting back to the subject of old smoky any advice would be much appreciated.
  17. It was commonly thought that Dave and in the late 60's BAOR probably had war reserves. By the late 80s some of the armoured devisions didnt have enough ammo to bomb up all their tanks but that was ok since there wernt enough trucks to resupply or any ammo reserves. I am with Steve on Nato, its a paper Tiger. Especially with Germany buying Russian gas but sending Tanks to Ukraine. The Russians have parked a load of old Nuclear reactors up by the Norwegian border and the european nuclear energy comission pays for the upkeep of the site. Total farce, the Ukraine war is an unprecidented grift opportunity. Like the Norwegian firm selling £300 neck scarf's that can be bulk bought for £3.
  18. You wet the bed this morning Jase? Morning all. Looks to be a calm, dry day, lovely. Lime and Cherry today, reduction, crown lifting and clearance from lamp post. Easy start to the week. Have a good one folks.

  20. Good morning Arbtalkers 😊 Have a good one......... Are you up Les ?
  21. The way shit is going down here, the next war will be within this country, don't just read the room, the country, read the feckin' world,UK, France, Hungary, Poland, and many others are realising they are being invaded, often with the blessing of those they expected to prevent it, and they will eventually have had enough, and rise up and unite against the threat. people have been pushed for to long, too far, resistance is mounting fast, the push back is not going to be gentle or pretty.

  23. OK, as regarding batteries that are so flat that the charger doesn't recognise them... It's possible to give them enough of a boost by parallel charging them from a good battery that they are brought up enough for the charger to see them, there's lot's of stuff about this on youtube, worth a go for sure, cheers.
