  1. Past hour
  2. I can't see this migrant returns deal with France making much difference - whereas the Rwanda scheme started working before it even got off the ground. Next election hopefully won't go to Labour - Reform would be much more willing to dispense with interfering legal systems. Wishful thinking can be harmful, last election I was thinking 'hopefully won't go to Labour'. Even a literally hung parliament would've been better.
  3. Good morning Arbtalkers 😊 Drizzle here today...
  4. Today

  7. Good Morning. Same here but very light rain.

  10. Morning all . Complete cloud cover steady rain , no thunder and lightening as yet . No wind . Feels warm . Rugby today !
  11. We are the same age and of similar backgrounds it seems . Here is me on my blade aged about 50 I think
  12. 200L over six months works out as a litre a day. A couple of big saws would easily gobble that up. My previous 25L Rotatech oil, with still a couple litres left, was opened Jan '24.
  13. Yesterday
  14. Why aren’t they dredging the life out of it whilst it’s empty ffs?! Increase capacity without upsetting the enviro-huggers. It would be a fast, cheap and easy way of bolstering short-term storage.
  15. Any pics? Not much you’ve not done!
  16. Brilliant film, definite top 5 (with Jaws, Mad Max 2, Smokey and the Bandit and Return of the Jedi)…
  17. I had an addiction for speed,,, no not that one,, the flat out on a motorcycle or car kinda speed, I had a bike 155mph straight out the factory, after a while became boring, started tuning it got it up to 178mph, then built a car 0-60 2.8secs top end 150mph, it would beat a fireblade off the line, then fitted nitrous oxide, another 100hp, on cheater slicks it would lift the front wheels 2 feet in the air on a launch, mate bought a real projectile of a Porsche, let me have a go in it, 162mph still got a gear to go, another mate built a bike up over the year he got banned for ,,yep you guessed right,, speeding, had it on the road first day of the licence back 212mph through the traps, didn't catch this time ,fold up plate. I have a chipped discovery 2 now, on 35"s goes anywhere ,,in comfort, probably get a ton out of ,never tried. people ask me why did you give up speed? is it 'cos your old,? no, when the fear of death is greater than the thrill of speed. you just change your driving style. that and the wisdom to know everyone has a camera now, even the five o.
  18. but how would the process start, would you expect a government to implement it? is there a party that could even carry out such a task? or should we overthrow the establishment and seize control of the countries finances? seriously though, I think those in charge have too much to lose to even consider such a move.
  19. plus-gas was a good one too, I still have some of the original stuff, wd40 isn't even close .
  20. No clue but someone should be able to help! Well help with the ident, there isnt usually anything you can do to help the tree or stop the fungi.
  21. It's an adrenaline addiction I think with most of them. Just the same as any other addiction. If I was that way inclined I'd choose to go jumping off a mountain or something, instead of on the end of a needle in some filthy squalid drug den. Thankfully I'm not that way inclined.
  22. I always preferred plusgas over wd40, If that didnt work then get the oxy torch out.
  23. Of course they aren't. It'll involve some pain unfortunately. Of the tax variety probably, as Stephen P noted above. Got to be worth it though. Personally I far rather pay more tax for a decent water supply and clean rivers and seas. Better than paying over the odds for some foreign owned bloodsucking scumbag company to dump shit in our rivers and seas and piss the clean water away into the ground with leaks. Alternatively, maybe the government could stop wasting money on expensive crap like HS2 and fcking AI data centres. Whilst simultaneously having the courage to tax the disgustingly rich elites and American big tech firms.
  24. I cant watch any of those extremely risky risk takers for long. The base jumping with wings flying through holes in rocks or just skimming the sides of mountains. Cliff jumping into a pool just missing the rocks or the mountain bikes and motor bikes along the ridges. Its a split second/brain fart wrong move and its goodnight Vienna. Not for me. Although I did piss about on scramblers in my youth but that was different.
  25. wd40 is crap these days, I worked in the automotive trade at one time and we often tried various fluids from reps stating all kinds of ridiculous claims their product was the market leader, they were all shite, I've broken a 3foot snap-on bar trying to crack hgv and even land rover wheel nuts, guy from snap-on could not believe it, but told me of a good penetrative solution they use on an american airbase he calls in on, gallon of ATF + gallon of acetone mix together and it will free just about any stuck nut/bolt . and it lasts for ages, just put a little in an oil can with the plunger and dribble a little , you can visible see it penetrating. just remember to give it a good shake before every use as it separates after a while. here's a pretty good article showing a comparison test. 26. Ok, you have a valid point, how would we as the public proceed to enable that to take place, 'cos I'll wager all those fat cats ain't gonna give it up without a fight.
  27. Wordle 1,490 X/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟩🟨 ⬜⬜🟨🟩🟨 🟨🟩⬜🟩⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 WTF was that?! Four words I've never even heard of.
  28. Whilst I take a break from today's particularly grueling Wordle.............. Obviously that would happen if we sold it to another private company, they're parasites as you say. I wasn't suggesting that though. Critical infrastructure is just that, critical. We shouldn't be letting bloodsuckers anywhere near it. If other more civilised countries can make it work why can't we? Top 10 countries where public ownership is totally normal | We Own It WEOWNIT.ORG.UK Public ownership is flourishing across Europe!
