  1. Past hour
  2. Sometimes it amazes me how quick delivery can be. I once ordered two drums of chain oil from Clark forest, in Scotland, in the afternoon and the oil was on my door step at 10 the next morning. It was like someone had got my order amd driven it straight down to me in porlock.
  3. No notification from honeys saying they have been dispatched.

  6. Anyway all out for 172.
  7. I look back down the stairs and think that ! πŸ˜€
  8. Mornin Stubs et al. Bit of snow on the ground, easy fallen oak to do, should be done by lunchtime. 4 and a half hours up the tree yesterday, so a bit knackered. Do you ever look back on a job and think β€œhow did I manage to do that?” Starting a bit later as we’re local, so watching The Ashes, which isn’t going well!

  10. Someone I used to work with bought a plot of woodland a couple of years ago and every weekend he has to repair his fences in two or more places . Not only do they come in they deliberately destroy his fences to make it easier for them . He recently had a court case where a woman complained to the police that he had threatened her then attacked her whereas in reality he had asked her not to trespass on his land . I'm not sure of the outcome but it was extra hassle he did not want . I might see him next Monday and I will ask him .
  11. Morning all . Bleedin' perrishin' out there ! Hard frost with a strong northerly making it feel like -11c ! Happy Friday πŸ™‚
  12. Today
  13. Too late but I think you need to swap the head for the smaller, lighter jobs. Look into a PolyCut head or a DuroCut head if they make one for your brand of strimmer.
  14. Awake stupid early, hopefully back to sleep in a bit! Cold out but no snow. TFI FRIDAY! Seeing a couple of folk and got a big chipper on the back of the car. 14", 140hp, crankcase hand feed, fully remote etc, just got to learn how it goes..... Then off up to hers, no doubt catching a few in the brewshed later too. Gym, Pansy.
  15. Nice setting but it wont be so warm 30ft up that tree ??
  16. Yesterday
  17. Well, within reason. It'll stop people randomly coming in but won't stop those who are determined to get in
  18. Too many years ago I did my college thesis on producing constant rotation coppice firewood/heating fuel for a reasonable sized domestic/farm property. Calculated a requirement of 7 acres hardwood to be truly self sustaining, starting from a neglected site returning it back to constant rotation coppice with an increasing amount of off site firewood sales to recoup some of the capital expenses. The model never paid for itself if the woodland was actually purchased, but was theoretically successful if using family farm woodland
  19. How much of this is caused by work related issues ?
  20. I feel your pain! I missed two years of skiing until I got heated gloves and was put on Coracten tablets to ease Reynaulds. Felt like my fingers had been hit with a hammer even with very expensive skiing gloves on. I’m not sure which meds do what yet but am on blood thinners, statins, beta blockers and a few others. Hoping that next week’s MRI and a follow up in a couple of weeks will give some idea of what can be done. Already fed up of not being able to do my share on each job
  21. Got a couple of days in milling scots pine with a view to getting a drying shed up, very pleased with the mill
  22. Not just heart meds do that. My migraine meds (triptans) shut down peripheral capillaries - great for the brain tissue but hell for hands and feet. Looks like they've died when exposed to cold winds, rain , frost or sea water. I look horrific after stepping out from 15mins in the Mediterranean!
  23. Same here - sat in the truck with the engine running and the heating on. Battery heated gloves are helping but with all the meds since my heart problems my circulation seems to be worse than ever. Glad the younger lads are stepping up and taking more responsibility πŸ‘
  24. Agreed Had the same machine for a while now, done a few mods, welded up a couple of tables either side of the main beam to stack a few pieces on, converted to single handed operation. I’ve a 14hp B&S unit and two stage pump from an old hydraulic pack that I’m tempted to fit to try increasing ram speed but in reality that single handed spool valve I fitted saves so much time and in some respects steady is safe. Tows fine I’ve found as long as you don’t hit the motorway and stay sensible.
  25. Dave Stone

    Forest Dene

No specific requirements Access site via private road at the top of Littledales Lane, turning right at the end where there's a sign "Watling House"
  26. Mine hasnt been modified but i use it 1 handed no problem , i keep my right hip on 1 handle
