Well, we don't pay road tax here. It certainly shows as there are very few SUV and pickups on the road. How much is the road tax for a 3litre 4x4 ? The pollution tax has killed the 4x4 market, it means that in comparison to the UK, outside of mountain areas, newer family 4x4 vehicles are quite uncommon.
 -
I wonder when that utter insanity will reach the UK
 -
Yup. A Ford Ranger 3litre can be pushing €80k The Ford Bronco was €75k + €50k pollution tax. I've never seen one outside of the showroom actually on the road.

	Or Brexit ... probably

Lots of jam there. Even more when I mix them with Quinces. Impressive size to some of them this year. Also. See the ladybird hiding in the smaller one. There were many like that.

Hence why probably never. It’s an idea but I haven’t worked out how it’s better than a biner yet. We don’t need new things if they’re not better.
 -
Something similar but less complicated was made from a 1/2" spring steel rod for ground skidding multiple trees when thinning, something thinner would work for ziplining. Picture of the concept made from a piece of copper wire.
 -
Yeah, clipping on a carabiner takes ages.
 -
I’ve got an idea for something that does that. Coming soon (probably never).

So what is going on here ? Stihl dealers tell me that there isn't such a thing available ... It's part No: 1147-790-3701 I say brightly .... That part number doesn't exist (i'm told by L&SEng's) I drop a wee line to Stihl UK ... I know, i'm innocent On their website I contacted Stihl Customer Service and asked if I could get a full wrap handle (part number 1147-790-3701 ) from them. To further proof I attached this ... I get a plethora of responses from Andreas Stihl Limited We have received your request. We will get back to you asap, meanwhile look on the website .... etc etc and then ... this Dear Mr Bartlett, Thank you for contacting us at STIHL Customer Service. Please kindly note that indeed, that MS 500i full wrap handle part is not available in our market. We have different market requirements in different countries. These include licensing requirements, purchasing power, demands for comfort and modernity, working methods, and other factors. For this reason, we offer the right product range tailored to each country. When products or parts are not available in a specific country, it is also important to consider that dealers may not be trained on those products, and spare parts might only be delivered with a delay. This approach ensures that customers receive the best service and support for the products available in their market If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Kind regards, STIHL GB Andreas Stihl Limited Phone: +44 (0)1276 20202 www.stihl.co.uk I replied ... Dear Anonymous Thankyou for your swift response. From your reply I understand that the reason you do not supply a full wrap handle for the 500i is that your (UK) dealers are not trained on this product ? They are trained on other models though, (the 300 and 400 series) for example, and that these full wrap handles are deemed fitting and meet the requirements of Licensing, Comfort and Modernity for these saws, but not for the 500i ? Have I understood your response clearly ? Perhaps you meant that there is no demand here in the UK (I would beg to differ on that point and would steer you towards the internet, the Arborists forums and your dealer/supplier network) ? Or is it that Germany can’t make them fast enough to supply other than the US market ? Any other specific reason I missed ? Best regards I await their response with baited breath, although given the "We're Stihl, how dare you question us" attitude of their initial response I have a feeling i'm not going to hear back.

That's what the Luddites and Saboteurs said. Think about all those clerks who sat in rows and columns of desks with mechanical calculators summing up bank accounts, electricity bills etc. All jobs automated by data processing. Look at the service industries that grew with the labour which came available. Loss of jobs was never the issue because the problem comes from the wealth of the people that own the capital that grew the systems taking humanity on a train to the cliff at ever increasing speed.

Talking of types lad what’s with the stand by Andrew ie not guilty comment ??. I’m very surprised that the nonce finder brigade on here haven’t come down on you for that one, although a leftard type mentality does buy you a bit of leeway for sure.
