  1. Past hour
  2. I had to read this twice, I did not have my reading glasses on and first i thought it read Rupert the Bear cockbook not Rupert the Bear cookbook πŸ˜†
  3. A magnolia tree on my land that had almost a second trunk (or a branch) fork away from the trunk very low to the ground had to be removed as it was obstructing the pathway. Many years have past and now the tree has grown around the stump, but recently the middle of the stump began swelling. It swelled so much that pieces fell out, and in the hole it left a pool of water. What’s in the hole is extremely rotted, and the water can’t escape. I’m concerned this will kill the tree. The main part of the tree does look well however. Im considering cutting a very shallow channel (width of a chain saw cut), to let the water out, and let it stay dry. Either that or I just leave it? thoughts?
  4. Hi, I think both, I think you can inject it into the holes... I've only done this once to a chair which was easy but I guess with something much bigger I guess you could spray it. Being no expert, I think if I had serious woodworm in my house for example I would be tempted to buy a pukka woodworm treatment or if it was bad enough call in a professional. Cheers.
  5. That's the way it's looking in terms of where Reform are heading. Hopefully the Greens won't go the same way and take on Labour MPs. The politicians who have been in charge have clearly been incompetent, why would anyone give them another chance? Our communities deserve more than the same reconstituted food served up with different coloured dye.
  6. Hi, I just paint or spray it on before before stacking the slabs to season, + painting the ends with2 coats of SBR. I suppose usually the milled wood would have dried a bit on the surface, I'm no expert... I'm just winging it but it definitely helps to prevent Blue stain and it's cheap and non toxic to mammals.
  7. Pord

    Pundyburn Croft

Always happy to take logs in particular. Can accept deliveries any time.
  8. Well played that man πŸ‘πŸ»
  9. Today
  10. Surely it's going to get to the point that it is becoming the tory party under a different shade of blue. Seeing as though the conservatives were kicked into touch last time round may be people won't see it as a good thing, not refreshing as once promised but more the same acrid pool. Mind you labour are leaving the door open

  12. Finally got recovered at 9.30pm, western recovery were very good. Said they had been sent somewhere else and had been given the wrong number some hours ago. Quite frankly I found the whole process appalling. I do feel as though the initial patrol guy could have been more helpful. We had waited 2 hours for him to arrive and confirm what I had said. Then we had to be on the phone for 20 mins before we could get a call handler to then tell them what the situation was. Very happy to get in that lorry with the car on the back. Ordered the replacement belt, of course not one the local motor factors keep on the shelf, tomorrows job.
  13. More like rats leaving a sinking ship
  14. I still use my Rupert the Bear cookbook. Well, I still use one recipe from it, but the book sits there on my shelf still... It doesn't have the marmite recipe in though as far as I can recall...
  15. Don't think Jensen are really going / producing wood chippers at the moment? It looks like TH White Machinery Imports (Jensen UK) have hung up their boots with trying to bring it in?
  16. Suella Braverman dumped tories for the Farage circus! Lemmings leaping off a cliff?
  17. Didn't want to put him off my cunning plan!
  18. bobbybl

    Ellie G

Logs for log burner required. Have own chainsaw and logsplitters
  19. Woodchips to be suitable for a stable yard. Cannot include bark poisonous to equines - ie, yew, sycamore, black walnut, laurel, fresh fir, cedar and rhododendron
  20. As I recall (and obviously it was 45ish years ago) Rupert the Bear had Marmite and peanut butter sandwiches in the recipe section of the annual. Had a soft spot for the combination ever since.
  21. Brilliant! Finally get a brew and proceed to spit it up the window.
  22. P.s. Forgot to add. Finally got cake. Landlady of favourite pub presented cake as we had our Anniversary lunch.
  23. Did you explain to the passenger it's always the nearside occupant that gets killed by an over exuberant driver?
  24. Another question on Borax, does it kill woodworm that are in the wood or does it solely protect from infection? TIA

  26. Feeling like I've smashed that one! One got to take his own car and claim back mileage, sent the other as his passenger, they're off with a magnetic beacon on the roof feeling like kings of arb and I get the day alone in the mog with R4 and no tik tok reels or talk of deathstar Lego sets. Win win.
