Morning all, Off to the local walk in centre to get something for my ear infection. Using ear defenders has a downside. Long drive to Normandy Doug. Happy Sunday.

Just had it repaired/tuned (previously wasnβt quite running right). Recent new chain. Selling because of lack of use due to having newer saws. Iβve always used bio chain oil with this saw which has stripped some of the paint from the body. Collection or can post at buyers cost. For further info etc WhatsApp me on 07748118266Β£250

Anyone use pick up trucks for small/medium tree and hedge jobs?
Mick Dempsey replied to Lou Brown's topic in Arb-Trucks
I know fencers who loved the bed length for posts and poles etc. Would I get one if they became available? Probably not as I have become used to the extra inside space. Be interesting if one of the big boys. Nissan, Ford, Toyota or Mitsubishi started producing one. -
Glorious Morning Logs out today...it starts. Have fun.

Those pesky Tie, Arc, Icarus, Pete! Morning all. Sounds quite blustery out, heavy rain due later. Not much planned, should really give the pickup a clean out while it's dry. Winding down next week, 3 days left at work then we're off to Normandy for a week, she'll want to travel in a clean truck! Have a good one folks.

I am sure that the chain speed is less than 25m/s for all non forestry spacific cutters. Chain shot is not an issue at these speeds. -

Do you think single cabs will make a return appearance now that BIK values have changed or is this for another thread? -
Awake too early and caused a stir in the night sleep walking. Knocked over her cosmetics table which went with an all mighty crash and skittle everything everywhere! 3rd time in recent weeks I've slept walked too! Enjoy your Sunday, got a chap coming to view her dad's car, hopefully he is a genuine buyer as I'm hacked off with chancers and buffoons who think I'll sell it to them for buttons! Never, tea, tee.

I used a single cab hilux with greedy boards for a while. Until I could get a loan for a tranny tipper. A potato fork was the perfect tool to get the chip out. Canβt get single cabs anymore of course, not decent ones anywayβ -

A hole or crack in the oil tank wall that separates from the crank case possibly ?

I knew a bloke who worked for the council, theyβd put all the old machinery and trucks into auction when they got replaced. There was a escort van that he wanted so he took out the front seats and filled the cylinders with engine oil. When people tried to start it, it was solid, even the fan etc was immovable. You just assumed it was seized up and practically worthless, the missing seats giving the air of something already being cannibalised for parts. So he went to the auction bought it for buttons, replaced the seats, removed the spark plugs and turned the engine over, removing the oil, hey presto! a few grands worth of van for next to nothing. Not saying that is whatβs happened here, but it put me in mind of that story.

I got presented with an 076 today, apparently "seized solid", started to investigate and quickly discovered the entire crankcase both under and above the piston was full of chain oil? so, hydraulic locked. never come across this before, looks like someone has been feckin' with the carb as it's partially refitted, and my first thought was somebody filled the fuel tank with chain oil by mistake? but I had a bit of a search and it appears there could be one of many reasons for this event. can anyone perhaps shed some light on the problem, maybe even had similar . TIA.

Some of you may recall the tales of my dear friend Big John a little while back, here's another,, Picture the scene, it's Christmas time, a few of us have decided to get together at the local boozer for a decent end to the year, we've arranged to meet John there, he doesn't show, unusual for him, a few calls are made and he is apparently working security for a well know band at a gig, so we carry on in his absence content that he is ok, around midnight the pub telephone is ringing of the hook and the landlord answers, thinking it's someones irate wife calling about the husband, apparently it's Big John, wanting to know if the pub is still open, and having been told yes, can somebody put "Merry Christmas Everybody on the jukebox in 5 minutes, landlord humors John , "yeah ok" and hangs up, approximately 5 minutes passes and landlord tells someone,, Put Slades Merry Christmas Everybody, on the jukebox, every one looks a little surprised but it gets put on as requested, right as the moment it starts,, door literally bursts open and a very drunk Big john staggers in accompanied by an equally drunk,,, Noddy Feckin' Holder!, in perfect unison they proceed to sing the whole feckin' song perfectly, with the whole pub being heartily encouraged to join in. Noddy Holder kipped on Big Johns Sofa that morning as was when we finally left. John often did security for various bands and always managed to get them either into, or out of all kinds of predicaments.

came in from the workshop today and instantly saw the missus was in good mood, you look happy I casually said. I've been sorting out some things in my wardrobe I've had ages, I'll show you, she scuttles off and comes back and says I wore this when I was 16 years old,,, and it still fits me. It's a feckin' scarf, I said, hasn't spoke to me since.

It's the chemistry of biomass. The white wood of a short lived tree serves only to support the crown it has about 1% minerals and the rest is cellulose, lignin and hemicellulose, the working parts of the tree like the leaves and bark are more complex and need all the other chemicals to do their job and it is these that need the small amounts of potassium, silicon and other trace minerals that end up in the ash. grasses have high ash content because they do not differentiate into a support system. There was a database (Phyllis) which showed the chemical content of many plants, I haven't looked for it for a few years.
