Mark swapping to single handed is no big deal, I initially used a piece of flat strip bent to a U shape and then welded a bit of tube on top, basically linking the two sides of the old handles to one. It’s easy to visualise if you have it in front of you. The old spool valve died so I recently put on a new one with a proper single handle set up. Not expensive to do. I’ll try and dig the old handle and valve set up out and put a pic up but you can just see it in one of the pics here.

good call, Alternately it is entirely possible to agree with someones post without engaging with those that oppose it, it appears often the problem start not when the post is originally made, but by the usual few that simply cannot accept any viewpoint other than their own and choose to pursue the poster with much venomous diatribe. and it isn't long before the rest join in. isn't there some advice about not feeding trolls. an example would be a joke is posted, you have multiple choices, laugh at it, and decide whether or not to place a "like,,laugh,etc", from the list provided. don't find it at all funny, move on look for something else. it serves no logical purpose to add derogatory comments and take up time whining about the jokes content, or using it to relentlessly attack the poster, and then accuse them of being the problem.

There are a couple of threads where a few people are being unbelievably rude to each other, churning out some fairly vile stuff. I simply ignore these and concentrate on the bits of Arbtalk that are about trees. SO simple.

Yes, but pretty much like a lot of forums. Just checked THL and stalking directory, not been there in years, and SD has got its own political section away from off topic that you have to be a member to access, but there's a few political threads still on off topic, THL used to be anything goes including lots of illegality. The political side is much the same. I came here to learn a bit but in the first topic I got jumped on and from then on it was the same old same old. However the eye openers were lying to promote a political stance and being happy for people to die to save a couple of quid. Forums are becoming echo chambers that seem to be allowed so that there is traffic otherwise people just go to face ache and ask a question on a relevant page for a quick answer. Lots of knowledge is available across this and other fora, but as AI bites I wonder if eventually they will die away slowly and the knowledge is drawn up (givenaway?) into knowledge bases through AI?
