  8. Morning all, Get my state pension today, 66. Celebrating by going out to work. Young lad dismantling large manky pine close to a shed. I’m on the ground. Yesterday for only the second time ever we experienced carb icing up due to fog and below zero. Yet today’s max is forecast at 14 degrees. Totally weird.
  9. Morning, rest well Mick! Mild here too, word is it’s to be 12 degrees today. That should shift the last of the village ice hopefully. That’s me pretty much off now till new year, got some wee chores to do, and I’ll get steam cleaner back from the work shop so everything’s getting a good wash down. Have a good day.
  10. I used to find that winter storage thing of " running them until dry" never helped, used to **************** the carbs so I gave up on that . Like above ive had big saws thst sit in the shed until needed , and also had the old series of husqvarna having issues with fuel with one local idiot eventually getting to the saw and seizing it up (hunt) he wrecked a good h350 for not putting new fuel in it . And another workshop did 12 saws of carb cleans , pipes and not running right, the were the 2 series husqvarnas as well as the 3 series . So ive just got to a point now where I cant be fked with messing and I get better economy out of motomix or aspen , no fkd machines or gammy carbs . Also better for your health well aspen is

  19. Good Morning The Christmas work madness has started. All the must do stuff before the event. All at a time when I don't feel inclined to rush anywhere. Hope things work out Jase. Keep the shiny side up.
  20. Lady Branson, wife of Richard Branson Jack Shepard, actor who played Wycliff, a tv detective programme.
  21. Put my back out Monday, went to the bone cracker yesterday afternoon and he put me back in place. So taking it easy today. The lad is going off to finish a clear up from yesterday, I have a couple of things to look at this afternoon. Shame not to work really as it’s dry today, but no point in putting it out again.
  22. Away in a bit, towing the Ufkes. Doesn't feel as cold out but good to go! Be good y'all! Lay, Burp, Arty.

  25. doobin

    Husky junk

I don’t have to patience to do that on every machine. My fs461 and fs490 are stored with normal mix in and never have an issue over ten years. im just at a loss as to why three Husky machines have failed like it.
  26. doobin

    Husky junk

Stored with all the rest of the machines inside an insulated workshop.
  27. doobin

    Husky junk

All three were laid up in perfect health. Started up after changing the fuel and wouldn’t run right, started to need throttle to keep idling etc. Pull them over and it’s clear the compression has vanished. Remove exhaust and I can see scratches everywhere. I have multiple stihl machines stored for similar periods without use and have never had a problem. I’m perplexed. The polesaw has been replaced with Milwaukee m18 which is a massive improvement in performance and I’ve just ordered the m18 back handle.
