  2. The Council should be reminded as many times as necessary that it's not an 'application' (it's a notification) and it doesn't need to be 'validated', there is in fact no statutory validation requirement or process. Likewise it can't be refused. But quite rightly a Council should say if it considers that the notification does not meet the requirements. An important distinction between CA notifications and TPO applications is that the latter must give reasons for the proposed works, but tehr is no statutory requirement for CA notices to give reasons. Peronally as a matter of educating the Council and avoiding delays for my customer or client I'd tell the Council that, and be clear that they're not getting any supporting report, and that the 6 weeks clock is running down. CAs are an imposition on landowners and the tree protection is precautionary only. Notification is meant to be easy and free.

  4. Have you flushed through the system? It's an old saw that has probably laid dormant for sometime. Chain oil left in areas such as the oil pump can solidify and clog it up over time and only allow a small amount..if any oil through. If this is the case, you would be better off draining the tank, removing the pump and drive and leaving overnight in a solvent solution, then blowing it all out and refitting
  5. Hi everyone, I have a Danarm 1-71-SS. After using it for the first time with Stihl bar oil (which is quite thick), I noticed the oil pump is only supplying a very small amount of oil, even with the adjustment screw turned all the way up. I completely drained the Stihl oil and replaced it with a thinner oil, but the problem is still there, even I run the saw several times!. Has anyone experienced this before or have any suggestions on what could be wrong?

  13. Morning all, Lazy day today. Going for a test trip with Rosiedog (chocolate lab) in passenger footwell of Hilux next to wife’s feet to see if she settles. Going on busman’s holiday soon to Scotland and need to know she will travel ok. She’s fine in the van but not tried the footwell option before.

  18. Kram, I have an exceptional deal for you. It is an hexagonal shape. Looks similar to a wheel. Very cheap, no where near as efficient but it might help you get somewhere. Then when you’re tired of the bumpy ride, come back to me, I have perfectly round ones for sale, much comfier, more efficient and a little bit more expensive. Most people have been using these round ones for hundreds of years. See you soon. 😜
  19. That is interesting! The UC002 is a bit big for light pruning work and that looks more like a 2511 sized. Hopefully they kept all the power and just repackaged it.

Bonus daughter is in to the cross country etc, currently suffering broken ankle after getting tossed while getting in to the saddle! Local trials are on soon so will have to combine watching within hustle of photographing! Enjoy the day. Meaty, Horror, Logical.
  25. Good Morning Nice one Doug. I miss my terrier/whippet companion, she'd happily sit in the sun/truck and keep watch. Off to see the fossil today for his Birthday. Have a peaceful one.
  26. In all fairness, for their power to weight all battery saws tend to be a bit on the heavy side. Interesting to see how it stacks up against the msa300 and the husky 550i when that comes out
