came in from the workshop today and instantly saw the missus was in good mood, you look happy I casually said. I've been sorting out some things in my wardrobe I've had ages, I'll show you, she scuttles off and comes back and says I wore this when I was 16 years old,,, and it still fits me. It's a feckin' scarf, I said, hasn't spoke to me since.

It's the chemistry of biomass. The white wood of a short lived tree serves only to support the crown it has about 1% minerals and the rest is cellulose, lignin and hemicellulose, the working parts of the tree like the leaves and bark are more complex and need all the other chemicals to do their job and it is these that need the small amounts of potassium, silicon and other trace minerals that end up in the ash. grasses have high ash content because they do not differentiate into a support system. There was a database (Phyllis) which showed the chemical content of many plants, I haven't looked for it for a few years.

One side comment here, then back to predicting Trumps policies via Hollywood US Senator Johnson (? I think): "Trump was an FBI informant in the Epstein case" Also US Senator Johnson later in the same interview: "Trump knew nothing about Epsteins crimes" ... or words to that effect... Bit of a contradiction there, if you know nothing what were you informing the FBI about: "Hi FBI, Here to spill the beans, I know nothing" "Excellent and can you elaborate this nothing" "No, told you everything I know nothing about" "Great, thanks, we'll put you on the FBI Informants list" ...I Suspect what Johnson is really saying is "Trump was fully aware of Epsteins child rapes while he was doing them, and spoke to the FBI later to save his own skin" as you were, what films would make good US politics?

Interesting, why more ash?
-
I think it is much the same as wood though I bet birch bark is higher because it is oily, the main difference will be much more ash from bark compared with the wood.

Anyone use pick up trucks for small/medium tree and hedge jobs?
Lou Brown replied to Lou Brown's topic in Arb-Trucks
When you say truck, do you mean pick up trucks like Hilux ? -
Domestic it can make a difference having named drivers or 2 main drivers - the explanation was if you share a car and crash it you have to explain to your other half.... so you drive more carefully. Made a difference adding Mrs P to my insurance and vice versa. Not so sure business wise, but for the sake of paying a real life broker commission or a web page commission, the real life broker is probably the best bet to talk to for your options - yet to see a web page giving advice. Profession can make a difference too "Tree Surgeon" or "Arboculturist" might be a difference in price for example.

Does the bark burn I wonder? (cannot remember but one thing I read once that - was it weight for weight - bark is quite energy rich - I could be wrong though, or it might have been specific trees... weight not m3 though)

Well, that's funny: Trump wants to send the military into Chicago.... "the murder capital of the world" apparently (doesn't make the world top 50, you might be surprised to know.. in fact, by head of population, doesn't make the top 30 in the US either) Trump's Bonkers 'Chipocalypse Now' Post Salivates Over Potential Chicago Takeover UK.YAHOO.COM "Chicago about to find out why it's called the Department of WAR," the post read.

Using the kubota yesterday to drag and wrestle these Poplar sticks to road side for the timber trailer. Didn't bother with grab as knew it wouldn't open wide enough. Push them up at one end with bucket and get chain under then drag / wiggle them down the hill. Happy days

I hope they are better behaved than the Palestinians that were at my local gym. They got banned, only so much anti Israeli graffiti and letching on the girls to be tolerated. Imagine the surprise that one of them got, when banged up for sexual assault he recognised one of the former gym members was now his warden. Funny old world.
