Dont be cheeky now blagger. like I say any chance you can sort out the latest loose end anytime this year 🤷♂️or are you just gonna ignore all inconvenient questions. Mr environmental polluter. Anyway SP what a time to be fretting over President Trump, you not got a wife who needs seeing to on a sat night or something better to do. On a more cheery note it seems them radical Iranian Mullahs might have had some Trump diplomacy thrust upon them, let’s face it we don’t want radical Islamists getting a nuclear weapon now do we. Even you an Islamist rape gang apologist must see the logic in that.

The damage calculated won't just be for the removal of the tree, they may end up having to replace "like for like" depending on if it has a high amenity value. You're best to consult a qualified arborist.
-
I'll be contacting them this week. My concern now, is the housing association who authorised the work, might try and bill me for the 3 paving flags that it lifted Guess that's cheaper than having the tree cut down though, which I'm guessing will be their cost

Ah blagger alert, it was a safe bet the BS meister would bite. While you are here any chance you can tidy that loose end up 🤷♂️

Though of course if Trumps actions are to gain a prize rather than through altruistic reasons, for the good of mankind, then that kind of eliminates him from the process doesn't it? So far though, he has done very little to merit a peace prize, even in Pakistan - India, a peace of sorts was done by direct contact between the 2 of them with no involvement from the US

Whoopsie, trimmed the hedge today... Am I in trouble? (for avoidance of doubt, there were no nests in there, never have been, but I check every time, low hedge, a cat and fox neighbourhood, birdies are not that stupid)
-
Yes i was thinking that myself. Tree is on my property, I believe. It's on the boundary but more on my side Wasn't any communication from the contractors who did they work though
-
I'd say you are right to be concerned, difficult to really assess anything like that from photos but it looks like removal of structural roots, yes potentially compromised safety. As to liability or who should pay for any remedial work, minefield. Legal action is much more expensive than tree work in general.

Trees done, it might not know it yet. I'd be claiming against the contractor

That’s kind of my point.

I did read an article about how maybe AI won't grow and take over the world, because the internet is now full of so much inaccurate AI generated crap its hard to train it without it believing its own bullsh1t.

It's not just social media, just got this in the back of a Section 211 acknowledgement letter. "3. Nesting birds are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside ..( it goes on ) ... . Normally it is good practice to avoid tree work during the period 1 st March to 31st August in any year, although birds can nest either side of this period. " It then goes on to suggest ecological consultants can be found in the yellow pages. Holy moly, everyone doing tree work in the summer needs to hire an ecologist?

steve78 started following Large Sycamore possible damage?

Good evening Just joined the forum after doing lots of googling looking for advice I have a large sycamore in the front of my rental property, the large roots at the bottom have started lifting my paving slightly, I went to the property to have a look and noticed that next door neighbours (housing association) ha ve had contractors in to relay some of the paving, the tenant wasn't aware, the housing association have authorised the work The contractors has used a stump grinder and removed lots of the root at the bottom, about a foot down. I've had a mate who's a tree surgeon look at it, and he thinks it's potentially made the tree unsafe! I've added a couple of pics for info, I'm concerned now that the tree could pose a danger to mine and next doors property? What do you think is the right move now, is it safe? Should I have it taken down? Talk to the housing association who authorised the work? I hope this is the right place to post Cheers Steve
