  1. Here’s a few more…
  2. Hi all, looking to build my own drawer unit for the back of my Ranger (hold saws etc). Comprising of two deep drawers and I’m thinking marine ply edged with aluminium. Just wondering if people have done this and would share any advice, examples of their work or recommendation of a different material. cheers,
  3. These guys are based in Scotland I believe but what a bit of kit… they have been using it to bale heather it looks like.
  4. Should imagine there will be a lot more to follow when this upswing plateaus… mr pessimist over here 🤪
  5. Yep, “puddle clay” isn’t an actual material it describes a process. Depends on the m3 needed, I’d contact some local muck movers/remediation/civils and see what’s being moved around. How big are the ponds?
  6. Has arb ever been a well paid industry and rates have suddenly dropped? I’m not talking turnover of work, more salary/pay on the hour. In my my mind you can’t suddenly expect to get paid more for the same job - if you do you need to find a niche or expand (I’ve always understood it as you can make a decent living but you won’t be rich). Personally I don’t work domestic never have, as for me there is no financial growth and too many people willing to work for bottom rates. Simply working hard isn’t enough in todays market to warrant higher pay. Micro/macro it’s about finding your place in the market and diversifying/evolving as required and getting your numbers correct …. That’s my two cents
  7. Fungi found on ash tree, located below a failed section approx 8m up. Couldn’t see anything around the base- help on the id please working on my id skilled…. My guess shaggy bracket?
  8. Haha the path is long… This site is incredibly serendipitous and the arguments are the extra jewels.
  9. Can you link these? Nothing I love more than reading some big butch men swinging handbags online 🤣
  10. cheers Andy, a couple of people have messaged offering some slabs, I’ll see what’s on offer! That’s where my head was in regards to value.
  11. Hi guys, I’m planning on building a large wall unit and would like to incorporate a live edge slab as the worktop. Approx. Measurements 14ft x 1.5ft x 2/3” thick (live edge only needed on one long side the rest cut square). Beech, elm or oak would be my preferred choices, any one with an idea of costs or can point me in the direction of a supplier (happy to collect) Cheltenham, Gloucestershire based cheers,
  12. Not to mention the cultural appropriation - wearing sombrero’s truly disgraceful
  13. Unfortunately doesn’t respect personal space when using the saw but he’s getting there!
  14. Hot weather = heat exhaustion & triggering it would seem
  15. How dare you exclude the Irish they’re “savages” too!
  16. it really is that simple! Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to compete ££££ due to my preferred method of dealing with conifers
  17. Local tree firm needed - 1/2 hours chipping required. Everything will be dragged and ready roadside, max diameter 3-4” (chipped & taken away) but mostly small diameter stuff. Pictures below also includes the veg running along fence line. preferably Thursday 14th/Friday 15th this week. Cash/invoice paid on completion. Cheers,
  18. Throw in IR35 for good measure and it gets even more complicated
  19. Looks to be a serious contender in the rc world. Don’t suppose anyone has seen it in the flesh?

  21. Hi Kerry, when is the next course running? cheers,
  22. House Martins enjoying the pool, not the best quality I was on my iPhone. FullSizeRender.MOV
  23. In my experience of tendering that is exactly what is/I’ve done, large projects cover the overheads and keep the kit and lads busy. Smaller projects outside of the large make up the profit margins, it’s almost every large business model hence the reason costs plummet on large tenders as it’s no secret! The big boys can’t have 20ts, whole tree chippers, 20+ guys etc sitting in the yard waiting for profitable work.
  24. Depends on your approach/kit, like Mick says if you have the right plant you can complete the jobs in half the time bringing labour costs down dramatically. If you have experience with the kit there are plenty of companies hiring 360s, shears, tractors, trailers etc. However like Joe says if you want to do it your way, price it your way!
