  1. Did you have a go in anything else? Currently eyeing up the Sany SY26(not zero tail) wondering whether to check a yanmar out!
  2. Not really however I’ve not used the longer shaft before.
  3. I’m 6ft 4 and didn’t know they did a long shaft version - I have a standard 461’s as said great brushcutter but we use ours for shredding blade work. Upgrade your harness as standard is awful for long days
  4. Thanks Dan & Paul for your comments. Thanks for the link Paul, food for thought. I wonder whether in-house training would suffice to show adequate training (from what I can see from the link it’s a day course and shows no accrediting body). It’s certainly not a prerequisite for this site more something that will make our works easier, as suggested I’m probably overthinking and maybe going down a rabbit hole. Cheers
  5. We will be accessing using ropes regardless of height, surely this must fall into one or the other? We have nptc but not irata hence the question. We can have a concise/well formulated set of RAMS but doesn’t account for not having the base tickets.
  6. Thanks Paul - due to the undulating ground a robo flail won’t work otherwise ours would be on it! Just trying to belt and brace it as its highways works probably over thinking it. Cheers
  7. Thought id resurrect a thread rather than start a new one. We potentially have some works to remove vegetation on a highway embankment - mature trees spread throughout slope however we’re removing ground vegetation (bramble, nettles etc). It’s not perilous with drops just a steep slope, my question is if we were to tie into the mature trees at the top and work down would this be covered under nptc or is this within the IRATA sphere of works (no saws required, brushcutter/trimmers mostly. To stress it could be done without any ropes but would be abit slippy and slow. TIA
  8. I’d value my toilet flushing over my trees being pruned 🤣
  9. Groundies - £150-200 Climbers - £250-350
  10. Have you found any decent info on how the grenadier tows?
  11. Stihl comms all the way especially when working with machinery. Huge improvement in Safety but the one thing I didn’t think to consider is how much they’d Improve efficiency, which they have 10 fold.
  12. Price would be the major difference - only looking at one for semi regular use on particular jobs. As you say lack of parts etc may prove a false economy
  13. Thanks mate, that was my thinking behind purchasing one - feeding hedgerow using a digger and with the drawbar dragging it along aswell. As mick has suggested have you fixed it in position or it functions just fine as is?
  14. Hi all, Are these chippers reliable and as bombproof as they look?
  15. Jake will have paid Tyson bare bucks to take the knee (Tyson doesn’t care/has nothing to prove), and on his reign will continue he’s doing everything to not actually face a current contender because if he does so ends his hype/boxing career!
  16. Hi Nathan, is this domestic or commercial work?
  17. Any subbies available for 2 days work before the end of the month? £350 a day (more like a day and a half, so job and finish on the second day). Thanks
  18. Hi mate, got any feedback for us? Much appreciated
  19. Lady in red - great choice
  20. The thing is they clearly can otherwise the market where you live wouldn’t be saturated. Unfortunately when you have a very low barrier to entry to a career the wages are never going to reflect what you think you’re worth. On the plus side if you can wait it out with your 100k of kit and years of experience the market will eventually bottom out in your area. Strung out companies/operatives will leave the market allowing you to then charge a premium for your service, happy days!
  21. Slight fallacy, you trade in a free market but the market dictates what your services are worth. Yes, you can run higher overheads and want to be paid more but that doesn’t mean you will (otherwise we’d all be rich). We could all band together under one company and force a monopolistic market - then we really could set the rates.
  22. Is the industry as a whole made up of masochist’s?
  23. Morning, yeah that was my thought. Lazy movement on anything tracked means new motor/pump generally. I ran a trencher on my 925tx which was great and as you say higher lpm, as you say 38lpm is likely to stall a lot but might be ok for the right job (virgin ground). Trencher wise 6” width x 24” length although could get smaller if available. I was wondering about the availability of parts and whether can source alternative pumps/motors but guess mounting/space would be the issue. Just was thinking for the right price might be worth a punt as generally speaking looks in good condition for its age.
  24. Anyone had any experience with a Thomas 35dt? Not looking as a full Time material handler more wanting to put a small chain trencher on it - the hflow seems good enough to run some attachments for the odd job.
  25. Hi all, Any recommendations to who could fit one of these to my 2019 hilux, bonus if they could also upgrade my springs as well. Preferably Gloucestershire but will travel within reason. Many thanks,
