    firms would rather beat their subbies/staff down on price rather than raise their fees to end clients through fear of loosing jobs/contracts.

    Take a drive round your local farms and have a chat, always managed to find a farmer that wants either some trees cut up for firewood or knows someone who does.

    Hi all, looking to build my own drawer unit for the back of my Ranger (hold saws etc). Comprising of two deep drawers and I’m thinking marine ply edged with aluminium. Just wondering if people have done this and would share any advice, examples of their work or recommendation of a different material. cheers,

    These guys are based in Scotland I believe but what a bit of kit… they have been using it to bale heather it looks like.

    Yep, “puddle clay” isn’t an actual material it describes a process. Depends on the m3 needed, I’d contact some local muck movers/remediation/civils and see what’s being moved around. How big are the ponds?

    Has arb ever been a well paid industry and rates have suddenly dropped? I’m not talking turnover of work, more salary/pay on the hour. In my my mind you can’t suddenly expect to get paid more for the same job - if you do you need to find a niche or expand (I’ve always understood it as you can make a decent living but you won’t be rich). Personally I don’t work domestic never have, as for me there is no financial growth and too many people willing to work for bottom rates. Simply working hard isn’t enough in todays market to warrant higher pay. Micro/macro it’s about finding your place in the market and diversifying/evolving as required and getting your numbers correct …. That’s my two cents

    Hi guys, I’m planning on building a large wall unit and would like to incorporate a live edge slab as the worktop. Approx. Measurements 14ft x 1.5ft x 2/3” thick (live edge only needed on one long side the rest cut square). Beech, elm or oak would be my preferred choices, any one with an idea of costs or can point me in the direction of a supplier (happy to collect) Cheltenham, Gloucestershire based cheers,

    it really is that simple! Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to compete ££££ due to my preferred method of dealing with conifers

    Local tree firm needed - 1/2 hours chipping required. Everything will be dragged and ready roadside, max diameter 3-4” (chipped & taken away) but mostly small diameter stuff. Pictures below also includes the veg running along fence line. preferably Thursday 14th/Friday 15th this week. Cash/invoice paid on completion. Cheers,
