  1. As far as i know the Terra-Vac is basically that on steroids. I believe they were designed for picking up manure and the like. My mate has one, the size you tow behind a ride-on mower. I've not used it yet as it's missing the hose, but they seem to be quite effective from what i've read. Unfortunately the high-velocity chip discharge cannon you want is not is not standard-fit, but would make a great project. ? "If you want chip you're a willing recipient. If you don't want chip you're an unwilling recipient!" ?
  2. I prefer anti-social media; join a forum then piss everyone off!
  3. Such a thing exists, it's called a Terra-Vac. ? I can see it like the door gunner in Full Metal Jacket. The best case of fly tipping caught in the act:
  4. I remember years ago when i was a kid my dad had a few handguns for target shooting. Only one i remember seeing was a Browning Hi-Power. He had an FN FAL too, but i don't think i ever saw it. We always thought he got into target shooting for the sport, he won a couple championships. Turns out it was after his house was broken into, he was robbed, beaten up and stabbed, so he got a 9mm "just hoping they'd come back" ?
  5. Apparently your WT-707 uses rebuild kit KT-K20-WAT, as per this page: https://www.carburetion.com/CarbNumber.asp?Number=WT-707-1 On eBay UK: Genuine Walbro K20-WAT Carburettor Diaphragm Gasket Repair Kit Set, See Listing WWW.EBAY.CO.UK P>A genuine Walbro K20-WAT diaphragm repair kit to fit the... On L&S Engineers: N/G Carburettor Repair Kit (Walbro WA, WT Carburettors) - Replaces K20-WAT | L&S Engineers WWW.LSENGINEERS.CO.UK N/G Carburettor Repair Kit (Walbro WA, WT Carburettors) Quality... I believe that to be what you need, going by the cross-reference i posted.
  6. I am both, yet simultaneously neither. ? Youtube has taught me not to operate a chainsaw from a ladder. So many "chainsaw fail" videos involve ladders, and limbs swinging round and knocking them from under people.
  7. It's the principle of it. There are plenty of legitimate ways to dispose of arb waste, fly tipping any waste on someone's property is a scumbag move.
  8. Hope you find who is responsible, then you can return their waste to them:
  9. LS Engineers are who i use. Very good service from them. Stihl 041 Chainsaw Parts | Stihl Petrol Chainsaw (older models) Parts | Stihl Chainsaw Parts | Chainsaw Parts | Garden & Forestry Parts | Plant Spares | L&S Engineers WWW.LSENGINEERS.CO.UK
  10. Runs like sweaty nuts? Doesn't sound ideal. ?
  11. They tear the arse out of the ground! We have a Vermeer at work. The thing is an absolute beast. Expensive but what it can do is unreal.
  12. I don't think it's been used much, it's definitely not been cleaned much! The bottom of it has few marks and it's overall in good condition. It's a 2019 too. If it didn't start so easy it'd be on eBay now. But instead i have a new plug on the way and am unsure what to do. ?
  13. Yes, that's exactly right. Just like chainsaw trousers they're full of fibrous "wadding" that the chain picks up, drags into the clutch assembly and jams the saw to stop it. It's remarkably effective to see in action. You will still get cut but the damage done will be much reduced.
  14. Today's excitement was cleaning up my used 550XP. Bought it a few weeks ago, lovely saw and very light, compact and nimble. However, unlike its bigger sister it took a fair few pulls to start, even once warm. Once the 572's warmed up one good drop start and she's off. Even cold she starts quick, so was a little disappointed by the 550. With money being tight i thought i'd clean it up and sell it. I could buy another later on anyway. I've only used it once and it's lovely to use. Cleaned a ton of gunk out, took the exhaust off, piston and cylinder look good, cleaned up the worn paint off the bar. Took the plug out and found it all gunked up and filthy. Gave that a good clean and now she starts easy. Once warm she starts with a single good pull like the 572. Now i'm not sure if i should keep or sell.. ?
  15. Ummm, i haven't tried personally. Although a few weeks ago i saw a mate of mine have a kickback, open his forearm up and come ¾" from cutting his artery and dying up a tree. He went to hospital by ambulance and got 26 stitches. You can get chainsaw boots, in varying levels of comfort.
  16. How can you not own a pair of wellies? ? I have some steel toe Dunlops, and a matching pair of riggers. Used to wear them with my wet weather gear when i worked for the AA. (The other AA.) Most comfy boots i've ever found are Puma Caminar GTX. If i could still get them i'd buy all that i could. These are about a week old, i have another pair new in a box. I'll cry real tears when they're all worn out.
  17. Is it right you have to run them at 25:1 oil ratio?
  18. Very much looking forward to that. My 572 is such a great saw i bet the new 90cc will be an absolute monster.
  19. Have you used the Tsumura bars? Like the look of them more than Sugiharas and they get good reviews too.
  20. Chainsawbars - Selectors for chainsaw guide bars, chains and sprockets WWW.CHAINSAWBARS.CO.UK Chainsawbars - Largest selection of chainsaw guide bars and... They're your best bet, big selection and good service. Plenty of bars to choosefrom, including genuine Stihls. Apparently Canon bars are the best, but also the most expensive. Don't think a lightweight bar with gain you much on a 20". I have an Oregon PowerMatch on one saw and it's good, very nicely made and the Oregon 75EXL full chisel chain which tears through at some speed. 461 pulling a 20 will be an animal. ?
  21. Either.. T525 550XP mkii 572XP or T540XP mkii 572XP 395XP
  22. I bet you have arms like Mr Muscle using one of those frequently. (I'm more like Toilet Duck..)
  23. Oh well in that case i'll leave it to you then! ? 395 isn't too heavy for its size and displacement. 572 is a nice weight for what an animal it is. When i bought my 550 i couldn't believe how small, light and nimble it is. My 3120... uhhh it can stay on the shelf. ? I know what you mean about the satisfaction of using it. I have a lot of tools and there are some that are just very pleasing and satisfying to use, in a way that's difficult to describe. I find sharpening chains like that. (The short ones that is. The satisfaction wears off before you finish a 36"!)
  24. No, Dutchman is where cuts don't line up one end of the gob so effectively the horizontal cut is a bit deep. I see. Am i right in thinking its purpose is to fell a tree away from its lean? If so, how does that particular cut work to do that? I've done a couple fells against leans, but only with winching.
