  1. Ah i see. Not used a petrol machine yet. Do you find they bog or drop revs more than a diesel? Moving chippers alone is no fun. Last time i had to i did this: I saw that Forst have a machine with a DPF now. It wouldn't worry me much, diesels generate soot under acceleration and with no-stress systems and running at constant RPM the DPF shouldn't really be an issue. Ah, makes sense. The sub-750 aspect of the diesel TimberWolf machines explains them being flimsy. My understanding is that GreenMech are much better built and more robust.
  2. I don't know, i'm not familiar with GreenMech machines.
  3. This? Cormidi Skidsteer Loader C85 - Not Vermeer, Cast, Avant, Ditchwitch WWW.EBAY.CO.UK <p>Cormidi Skidsteer Loader C85 - Not Vermeer, Cast, Avant...
  4. Out of curiousity, what made you choose a petrol one?
  5. Oh. Well you f**ked that one up then. 😂
  6. Merry Christmas to you too!
  7. I've got my fluffy boots and moose PJs on. 👌🏻
  8. And on the flip side you're constantly paying for something you never own. Matter or perspective. What works for you might not work for anyone else and vice-versa. All businesses and industries are different. If you're so good at making money and made your dad the richest man in the area why are you washing windows?
  9. So if they can't run a van and chipper 5 days a week it's not worth having? If, with the current work and economic situation, they can only do 2-3 days a week (Sort of as per your estimation as everyone is on here all day and clearly not working.) they should all sell their vans and chippers and get a TW13/75 and a wheelie bin? I think you need more exposure to the arb industry.
  10. And by your own admission you primarily do window cleaning and gardening. Yet you're lecturing bona fide tree surgeons (Not me, i'm new to it.) on chippers? If you did "proper" tree work you'd know that a portable chipper isn't quite up to the task and chipping into a wheelie bin is a giveaway to the size of job you're doing.
  11. How much tree work do you think doesn't require a chipper? I've still got most of it left! (Got more debt though.) Bigger the contract, lower the profit percentage usually?
  12. Why do you want a 40-year-old saw?
  13. Today's job was... Wrapping presents. 😴
  14. Firm i was at has 3 of them. 2 have had their chassis welded, all 3 i welded a new plate in the flywheel housing, i welded up discharge chutes, broken hopper hinges, etc. Don't get me wrong, i do like them and i do think they're good machines. But they fall apart. I think the problem is that they're built to meet the sub-750kg trailer limit so the knock-on effect being certain things made thinner or lighter. They're a good machine, they perform well and i reckon without that weight limit they'd be the perfect combination of simple yet robust.
  15. If you're unsure send it back mate. Not worth messing about with it if you don't feel it's right.
  16. And i think they're only about 20 quid? I bought Oregon kits, but found the round files (Swiss-made, so Vallorbe?) Weren't very good and one felt like glass and didn't cut for shit. Bought Stihl round files instead.
  17. Not seen the plastic pouch before, but the rest looks right. All my round files are Stihl and they have "Stihl Germany" etched on them with their size. Maybe it's Stihl-branded for other markets?
  18. The TW230s are a good machine but riddled with issues and rattle themselves to bits.
  19. Yes it's very easy to use. Single joystick to control steering. Its lift capacity is impressive, it'll pick up huge logs and scoot off with them with ease. It's a really nice machine. It's pricey but if you're running it daily/frequently it can be worth it.
  20. I've run this S925 quite a bit and it's a brilliant machine. Very powerful, huge lifting capacity, very easy to operate. Well-built and robust with a 35bhp Kubota engine. Apparently it was £32k. I woukd absolutely have my own if i could.
  21. When four of Santa’s elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure. Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where. Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered. Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom. Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said very cheerfully, ‘Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn’t this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?’ And thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.
