  1. Thanks Doobin, this may be an option handy to know.
  2. OK so I've been registered on tipsite for a while now, its been really good and had a few loads of chip and 1 load of wood. But could use a whole heap more wood and now got loads of room to store. If this isn't a cheek to ask, would anyone within say 15-20 miles of Chichester, West Sussex have heaps of wood/arbwaste sitting in there yard they'd like removed? Any size ok, can cut (have relevent tickets CS30/31). Or maybe even exchange some time on site helping cut up in return for a few trailer loads of wood or something? Just thought this might be more attractive to a busy company than dropping it off at my tipsite? Or perhaps I'm best to just phone a few local companies? Will also speak to some of the local estates to see what chordwood they've got available for sale. Would consider Arundel/Chichester/Portsmouth/Petersfield/Midhurst etc. If anyone is interested 07557008097. Thanks 🙂

    Tip sites

I've listed as a tip site and found this site fantastic. Generally get a call about when I'm needing another load, and had a couple of loads of hardwood dropped off too. All from tree surgeons working out their normal area. They've been very appreciative for letting them tip, I'm grateful everyones happy. Have had it where about 5 phone up the same week and turned them away but they understand, try and point them to another tip site if i can. Keep up the good work😊
  4. Could try Nigel at Kentdown he had his for sale don't know if its still available, its still on 'items for sale' on his website. Kentdown Mushrooms WWW.KENTDOWNMUSHROOMS.CO.UK
  5. I did this exact thing, plastic pallet base with wooden pallet sides and a sheet of plastic for the roof as wanted something that wouldnt rot, and only about an hour to build. Worked well, base didnt break but then i wasnt moving it. Got fed up stacking logs in there and wasnt big enough so built a very large multi compartment logshed with galvanised metal stillages as base and metal mesh fencing as sides, similar to your ibc idea can just throw them in. If you're only occasionally having a fire and get through 1-2m³ a yr 1st idea is fine, any more then go for the ibc set up. I put mine on some concrete blocks and didnt bother with plastic pallet under the metal.
  6. I've got a 6'x4' paxton trailer, any ideas where I could get a set of high mesh sides to fit? Think Paxton have gone as website no longer live? Apache look the same but don't answer phone or reply to emails. Any help appreciated, thanks.
  7. We had piece of 18mm plywood 600mm sq with 4 pneumatic swivel castors screwed on the bottom, pulled the bags off the truck and landed them on it. Worked well.
  8. You will struggle, have looked into this in depth before havnt found a courier that will take them. Most successful battery dealers have a network of depots and deliver on their own vans, and push them out at ridiculous low prices to anyone using a fair few. Also a pain if you stock them yourself as they can lose charge on your shelf. Also many batteries have a 1 year warrenty, so you'll need a courier who can collect any duffs. All in, a pita - but a quick google search shows many online battery wholesalers so maybe they've found a courier that will 🤷‍♂️?
  9. Or I've used McVeigh Parker at Adversane just south of Billingshurst.
  10. Redstone Tyres in Ford, West Sussex would almost definitely have something, worth a call.
  11. What about 'Road liable to flooding'? Surely should be 'Road liable to flood' or 'Road susceptible to flooding'. Liable to flooding - its like saying 'Road likely to flooding'. Or am I missing something?
  12. I did some research on these, although i haven't bought one yet Luke from stubbings-bros in the Isle of wight was v helpful on a Jasen hydraulic reckoned only a couple of weeks to ship from Jansen.
  13. BPH attachments you wont be disappointed, built to last and the service/aftersales backup etc is brilliant. Probably not the cheapest but one of the best.
  14. Could try M O'Briens?

    Mini digger

  16. Tube heaters are economical to run and safe overnight something like this; https://www.screwfix.com/p/dimplex-ecot2ft-wall-mounted-tubular-heater-80w-713-x-81mm/1796f
  17. Eurogreen in Worthing would take them but prob have to pay to tip
  18. Looks like I've been beaten to it... I've got a log grenade which is useless and a fiskars X25 which I'd recomend every day of the week not been defeated yet
  19. oh actually sorry i think that is in LEZ (outside of ULEZ)
  20. City surburban in new addington have a large site for their own waste worth a call see if they accept outside waste?
  21. Very important to make sure decent level base and well compacted with a roller (lot of people think it doesn't matter as gravel hides anything). Also land based shingle locks together better than marine shingle as edges are sharper if that makes sense? Good to specify that (you may get it anyway in derby but in sussex marine shingle is often the standard). Resin bound is ideal but as you say, expensive, as you'd prob have to concrete drive first. dunno, just my thoughts.
  22. Havn't used their estate fencing but generally their stuff is very good quality, been to their works too and very good set up. Not sure on install cost but theirs doesn't need welding on site like traditional estate fencing so I'd imagine any fencing contractor would be able to give you a price?
  23. OK yea interesting, good point thanks.
  24. I've got a 181 and always been like that from new, nightmare to get going and keeps dying when cold, but not too bad once its warmed up. I've mentioned it to a friend who had a stihl dealership, and someone else in the forestry game who's used them, seems to be quite normal even with a new machine with the small engined/domestic stihl engines...
  25. Yanmar do tracked machines the AC-16, AC-18 etc and i think Iseki do one, should be able to run that size flail and they're operated with steering wheel so easy to drive, there is a couple of places that have second hand ones at good money maybe try googling or ebay etc?
