  1. I use tapo, quite cheap. Range of different cameras as well as smart plugs (can turn lamp etc off from anywhere with same app) No subscription if you put card in rather than use their cloud storage. Start about £20 for indoor camera £40 for outdoor camera, bit more for pan/tilt and battery cameras. Decide what you want and find a system that does it, if you're gonna add more caneras etc down the line don't want to be using multiple systems. Surprisingly easy for a tech idiot like me to set up.
  2. It started as £40 and I said I don't pay for softwood arbwaste as not worth the time to process... so he dropped to £20 am I dumb to turn it away. I can do a bit of processing here and there on a sunday morning, not during work time
  3. Not much to lose is there
  4. What's it like to burn? I'm in the 'if its dry enough it'll burn' camp so not snobby about softwood but been offered some at £20/load (typical arb transit). Its arbwaste not cordwood. Thoughts? Would you?
  5. Make sure you submit a figure that you wont have regrets with afterwards, whatever way it goes. Work out highest you'd be comfortable paying to still make money. If you win you don't think 'oh crap I overpaid as I was desparate not to lose it' as you submitted a price you were happy paying. If you lose it you think 'oh well I went as high as I could, any higher wouldn't have been profitable for me' Don't worry too much what the market rate is, work out what its worth to you in your business. Probably no one else can tell you that. Hope this helps.
  6. The weld holding the blade to the shaft sliding part broke on mine in the first couple of weeks use if that helps🙈. In fairness they sent a completely new splitter straight away... and the same happened! I wouldn't touch one but they said it was a batch issue and they'd sort it which I'm sure they have, think I was just unlucky. I moved onto processor so never bothered chasing it up. But getting back to point yes fiskars x27 is a good axe to start with, can't go too far wrong lovely axe.
  7. Went offroad in one of the early prototype grenadiers when they were testing. Fully agree generally issues with vehicles are ironed out over time. But they've put years of research into the grenadier, I love their thought process/design, everything is practical and based around how can we make this a rugged work truck not a chelsea tractor. Using parts from well established brands as already mentioned. A risk I'd very much like to take if I had half an excuse to get one.
  8. I've got a bin made from pallets and just build a new one every year or so. Fill it with grass, leaves, kitchen waste, wood ash etc. Once its full i dig it out mixing with wood chip as i go. Dug it in before planting bareroot hornbeam hedge, which took off like crazy so cant have been too bad? Haven't got a secret recipe just always mixed in as much different stuff as poss Definitely not potting compost but great to dig in beds/before planting hedging etc.
  9. Might be! Next door neighbours cat used to get to our gateway, check it was clear then run past, going back to a walking pace once it was past our entrance. Mission accomplished. They just won't leave anything on their fur. It does work... if you can get close enough! Put it this way it never works twice on the same cat though!
  10. Is washing up liquid politically correct? A bit of that on their fur, which they then have to lick off. Doesn't do them any harm but they don't risk getting it twice
  11. Where abouts in the country are you? Someone might know a dealer who has a hire/demo machine you can try before you buy
  12. Looked at that one, just too big for our room nice stove though
  13. I reckon that was the best £100 I ever spent, about 10 years of really abusing it before it finally gave up... began to think it was completely impossible to destroy
  14. My brothers got one. Feels plasticy compared to my bosch one but is quite powerful and good value for the money
  15. We looked at burley at west dean. Nice stoves but no decent traditional design offering between 4kw and 11kw (no 8kw and the 5kw looks like a wine fridge we thought). Probably more efficient than our Charnwood and look well built.
  16. Thanks, yea we struggled to find any dealers who stocked anything bigger than C5, had to just order going off C5. They do seem really well built, should last a lifetime. I'll give you a shout in 40 years for a rebuild!😅 We liked the combination of traditional with a slight modern twist, single door, single air control etc. Once its hot we push air control in till it clicks (which isn't full way in) and room sits at about 20°c probably all day. Too many people buy a stove thats too big, have the heating on as well and wonder why it soots up when they have it running on minimum! Sorry I didn't realise you were a current Charnwood dealer would have given you a shout. Probably too far away anyway.
  17. If its a council job won't also be a friday afternoon job, they don't work then😅
  18. Nice one Ruben, you even got your moment of fame on LinkedIn! You know where to come for any bits for it anyway😁
  19. After doing stacks of research narrowed it down to Charnwood, Burley or Dean Forge. Went for a Charnwood C7 which was fitted a week or so ago. Had to take out wood mantle and no proper hearth as yet, so bit of work to do. So far the C7 seems a lovely stove, really well built, lights easily etc. Appreciate everyones comments which pointed me in the right direction, @Alycidon particularly.
  20. What amazes me though is despite all this you go to one of these greenwaste tip sites where people pay per m³ to tip greenwaste and there's a mountain of wood... so plenty of tree surgeons are obviously happy to pay to tip it. Convenience I guess
  21. Whoever thought burning wood on that scale was an efficient way to create power? We'll never run out of British coal what's wrong with burning that?
  22. Jim is a genuine bloke and great company, not tried the chippers they look pretty solid and well built though, and definitely not Chinese. Jim you may remember I was on your stand last year giving my Dad a hand, hope you're well?
  23. NJA

    Scam?

Definitely a scam. They say 'we may owe you money' as presumably success rates of people clicking are higher. Don't think any legit organisation will text asking for bank details.
