  1. Looking for one or two loads of processor grade hardwood near Hereford. If anyone has any or can put me in touch with someone it'd be appreciated.
  2. After reading this comment I was at Loxwood burners yesterday who used to do clearview but stopped. The owner said non of their (clearview) stoves meet current regs for efficiency so can't be signed off, as haven't really developed them much in the last few years. They have enough business trickling in from their reputation to keep the (old) owner busy till he retires in the near future. Suppose he hasn't got the drive or passion to invest in developing the business as he's had his day. Loxwood said they're still good stoves but they don't want to be fitting them. So kinda confirms exactly what Alycidon said.
  3. How would you rate charnwood against Esse? For build quality etc? To be more specific, the Charnwood C5 against the Esse 500? Any thoughts?
  4. Found this v helpful thanks, didn't realise this about Chesney. After looking at Charnwood they look a good stove probably go for one of them I expect. Any thoughts on Dean Forge and Esse?
  5. If you're staying in pretty much the same place (eg at vice sharpening chain), the infra red heaters are really good, heat you not the air.
  6. One very grumpy customer once when we gave the fine china back... 'where's the silver teaspoon?' Still to this day don't think it came with one, but leant after that always give back any extra cutlery etc when you get given drinks. Saves a 20min search down the side of the transit seats Colleague even offered up the cheap stainless teaspoon out his lunchbox but that wasnt doing it😔

    Stihl masonry saw

Really appreciate the replies I'll send this info back and see if its a simple fix he can do himself
  8. Not my saw but been asked if I'd know why the chain keeps coming loose and even coming off. I haven't looked at it but apparently local dealer has and say nothing wrong with it... Anyone had any experience with these or any ideas what I should suggest he looks for?
  9. We went past a lone female cop down a dark country lane, 3 of us in a transit tipper, when we got to the yard she followed us right in to the bottom of the pitch black yard about 11pm at night. Spent 20mins checking our details, phoning yard owner etc. All I thought was fair play to her, would have been easier for her to just carry on. We could have got narky with her for wasting out time, but 3 chaps heading to a yard in a transit at 11 at night... not suspicious at all!🙈😅 That's what we pay them to do, check out anything dodgy. Just move on, and hope that if the van gets nicked they stop it again! Which has reminded me of a call my dad got at 3am from the police once... 'we've got your van mate' no you haven't he said, its on my drive. 'Go and look out the window then'. Sure enough it'd gone, they'd stopped it as it was driving suspiciously and found some paperwork of his in there🤣
  10. I talk to a lot of groundworkers who do the large estates for taylor wimpey, barrets, bovis etc. Rather than dig footings etc fast as they can, they're now having to do a few, wait for the last chunk of housing to be built and sold before they do more. So still plenty going on, just they're not selling before they've come out the ground so developers are a bit more cautious I think. And as you say they're probably not rushing to get all their sites started. But as people get used to higher interest rates things will probably pick up. Its been easy for a long time.
  11. Yea just sounds a bit wacky but apparently they're very well built🤷‍♂️
  12. I was about to post this exact question. Had a reputable experienced installer round this week who said start by looking at charnwood, stovax, heta or, wait for it.. 'chili penguin' (made in wales). I've previously had good experience with chesneys. But interested to know what really stand the test of time with regular use... This installer quoted £1200 to install, chimney liner, sign it off etc. This reasonable?
  13. Grade 2 listing will very likely only apply to the house itself, there isn't a definitive list of what is and isn't included it very much comes down to the local officer. Insurance company won't look back at old planning details Ivery much doubt, but when the insurance was bought they would have asked if the house was listed, and if there are any trees within 20m/over 5m high etc etc, I'd just check the correct information was given to them as this makes up the policy?
  14. I did tell you😂😂 that's why I was convinced I needed the scag. But appreciate the advice and v happy with this. Now I've got it down I'll probably keep it a bit shorter. The real long stuff is the oxeye daisy's. Only using it on the flat really so should be fine. I borrowed one of those husqvarnas a few weeks ago, really impressed they get anywhere and leave a really good finish. Just joking can't justify anything else for the time being😏😔
  15. Well... got flogged this thing by @doobin - good to meet you pal. Thats the paddocks cracked out. Think I'll be finding excuses to do deals on more stuff in that barn of yours...
  16. Just this, if there's an accident on site and you were found to know about said druggie but did nothing, I'd imagine you'd have the book thrown at you? Employee fulfilled his responsibility by telling you, at the moment its with you until you can prove you acted on it.
  17. I thought petrol was only introduced by manufacturers to bring weight of machine down and lower emissions... if these aren't an issue then diesel?

    Hoovers

Pretty sure its just the colour. Henry Xtra comes with the carpet brush as an extra.

Fully agree on this, never touch a Dyson again, Henry all day long they're bullet proof. We've got a £500 dyson and a £120 henry the dyson never leaves cupboard. Something with a spinny carpet brush is what you want, which Henry do now don't use traditional fixed brush head.
  20. Good advice! Every time you put prices up a few customers drop off the bottom... keep doing this until demand meets supply?
