  1. I cant 100% remember but i did the fuel lines on one of these saws, there are hundreds of variants out there in different branding and im pretty sure i had to remove the handle to get at the grommet that holds the fuel pipes. On re assemble the oil pipe never fitted back properly and it pissed oil out all the time. Got sick of seeing the thing eventually and threw it in the skip.
  2. Whats it say inside the piston? actually cast into it rather than scratched on? Yes they are self tappers and there should be no thread in the 4 holes. You assemble the piston to the crank, slide the piston into the cylinder and sit the brearings and seals in their places, run a like of Dirko over the sealing face of the cylinder and then put the base pan on, Hold it all together and fit it into the housing then put in the screws and tighten in a cross corners pattern
  3. Not chainsaw boots and non steel toe capped but Karrimoor do a decent selection of large sized boots. Im in mine 8 hours a day and its took 2 years to wear my first pair out.
  4. If there was no exhaust on it when you found it someone has obviously removed it, they have done this because they were looking for the reason why it wouldnt start when warm. More likely than not they have seen a scored piston and then not bothered putting the exhaust back on, left it under the bench for a while, the exhaust has got moved around and lost and the saw has been put out for scrap.
  5. easier to take a picture of what your trying to fit it to?
  6. Ive the same machine, i actually think its 15HP. I look after 6 acres with it and its never missed a beat in 3 years. I dont chip anything larger than 2.5 inches with it as that gets cut for the fire but for the money paid for it its one of the best value pieces of kit i own.
  7. only ever had one a rattle gun couldn't shift, had to cut into that one with a dremel.
  8. If youve not pulled it over whilst there was oil in the fuel tank and immediately tipped the bar oil out it wont have got into the pipe so i would guess youve another issue. How long has it been sat unused?
  9. Its a ts400 not a 410
  10. As far as im aware its correct, my head scratching moment was with a flywheel from a 3 hole coil on a saw with a 2 hole coil, just wouldnt have it, it popped now and then but just wouldnt fire. Owner said it just stopped working. I had suspicions someone else had been at it because the saw was a state but the flywheel looked cleaner that it should have been. I put the correct flywheel on and away she went.
  11. Coils and flywheels on the ts400, two flywheels and two coils. XXXX XXX 1201 flywheel fits the coils with 2 fixing holes and XXXX XXX 1200 fits the coils with 3 fixing holes. You cant mix and match.
  12. L and S are always my first port of call for spares but its from their site where i've only found the full clutch on the parts diagram, the springs are not listed as separate items. Planning on ringing them on Monday morning to enquire.
  13. The Chinese TS410 carbs are better than genuine IMO. Ive swapped at least 30 and never had any problems with them. Their other parts are shite though.
  14. Does anyone know if the clutch springs are available to fit the Belle pcx400 wacker? One has snapped on mine but the only thing i'm able to find is the full clutch assemble at 140 quid.
  15. Disconnect the 2 switch wires from the coil and use the choke to shut it off if it starts and runs, this will tell you if the switch is faulty. We'll never know what the origional problem was if youve replaced the p+c and carb in one go. Nearly there though.
  16. It'll be carb trouble, always is with these saws when the p and c is clean.
  17. is the plug getting wet? Take plug out, spray some carb cleaner or easy start in the hole, replace the plug and pull it over, if it fires but doesnt run its a fuel problem. Buy a new chinese carb off ebay. 75psi is low but i imagine the tester is at fault if the p and c look good.
  18. I rarely go to the pumps but i thought E95 was replaced with E90 which is now classed as regular unleaded. Is E97 which i think was the super unleaded still availabe? or has the E95 become super unleaded? and E97 not available anymore?
  19. I swapped all my machines over to Aspen one by one when they needed a full service. I changed all the carb bits and rubber hoses, i buy Aspen in the orange can. I run Echo and Stihl gear and it works just fine. Only machine is a Koritz strimmer thats still on pump fuel and stihl red oil as i cant get parts for to change it to Aspen and daren't just try it as im afraid the fuel pipe will crumble and then the machine will be useless
  20. I recall a story on here of a team of three guys shoveling week old chip off a truck and all 3 ended up in hospital.
  21. Ive just been reading that people are up in arms about this saying that there will be thousands of more deaths on the roads due to this, an upside down caravan on every corner and a trailer in every ditch. Pre 1997 i dont recall a mass of trailer and caravan accidents.
  22. The KAT needs to run very hot for it to work efficiently, ive seen these exhausts glowing red and smoking ages after the saw has been turned off. The insulator pad and foil is there to stop the plastic from melting, if you leave it there it will do no harm when you fit the non KAT exhaust.
  23. HI, Welcome. Is that the KAT version? If it is throw that lot away and replace it with the nornal exhaust, one like this. Exhaust Muffler For Stihl 017 018 MS170 MS180 Chainsaw 130 140 0600 | eBay
  24. Are these blades any good? Its first time ive ever heard of them. Ive a good few self seeded black thorns to cut out at just under ground level 1 inch dimeter. Last back end was using a ms181 on a 12 inch bar but it became a struggle but it managed what i needed to do.
