  1. Does it pull over a full stroke with the spark plug out? if it does it appears like its just got very good compression,
  2. If its nice and shiney with the paint still on the bar, stick it on ebay as spares or repair when they have a cheap listings weekend and with the proceeds youll have enough to buy yourself a brand new one and have enough left over for a week in the sun. People are paying crazy money for knackered gear on there at the moment. I wish id not cleared out all my scrap 2 years ago. Could have got twice as much for it today.
  3. 2 month old fuel, id say thats your problem.
  4. Available on back order from L and S, just depends how long youre wanting to wait or you could fit a ms200t part
  5. Oil tank should not empty in 2 mins even though they have little capacity. Id clean it all off and run without bar and chain or side cover on to see where its coming from.
  6. something wrong somewhere as the grey plastic bit that connects with the trigger should sit futher back and rest on the trigger at idle
  7. Firstly before buying a saw is the wood you intend to cut yours? as you could be wasting your money if it isnt. Many of the woodland owners round here would rather let fallen branches rot away than let someone untrained with a chainsaw on their land. Id go for a Stihl MS231
  8. Ive had a new Honda mower on order most of this year, keep getting the told that Covid has caused delays, war in Ukraine is stopping delivery when i call in to ask where it is. Wasnt to fussed about it not arriving this year as the one im using is still mowing but needs replacing but now im hearing Honda are stopping production of all walk behind mowers next year.
  9. Land-based training courses, chainsaw training courses, Morton Training WWW.MORTONTRAINING.CO.UK Land-based training courses in chainsaw training, pesticide training, groundcare training, tractor training, health and safety and plant machinery
  10. How have you got it back if youve been paid out for it? I had a Motorbike stolen and paid out by the insurance and when it was found dumped on waste land a month later the police recovered it and the insurance company collected it from the police. I found out where it was via a community facebook post and offered to go and get it from the bottom of the ditch but the police said as ive received payment from the insurance company i dont own the bike anymore so had no claims to it.
  11. Is this oak slowly dying? Been neglected for years and so has the land it sits on, im slowly clearing all the self set blackthorns and getting rid of the rubbish but this oak is causing a bit of a concern as it looks to be dying and if it is could do with coming down.

    HT75 price

You wont get back the money youve spent on new parts and labour.
  13. So for the cost of a pair of crank seals £12 you scrapped the saw?
  14. seen a 440 with something similar on a new 25 inch bar a while ago, oil hole was not quite in right place on the bar, so opened it up and it was fine. Took some finding though as without the bar it oiled fine so never checked position of the hole for ages. Put bar and chain on and tension correctly, dont use the side cover use a couple of spare nuts and washers. mark a line on the saw and the bar so you can locate it in the same place. Take the chain off and line the marks up so the bar is in the same place and start it and watch to see if oil is flowing into the groove in the bar.
  15. the main bolt that goes through the angle drive is missing and the drive looks to have come away from the main gearbox. The main bolt has a little screw that screws down onto the flat that is on the bolt which is only accessable by taking off the black handle.
  16. Big difference between made in China and Chinese made in my book. I wouldnt bat an eye lid at buying a product from a trusted brand which was made in China, but would never buy one that was Chinese made.
  17. Remove the exhaust and check the condition of the piston through the exhaust port. Typical symptoms of a knackered top end.
  18. im not sure how it works but on an episode of bangers and cash they had an old rusted out complete wreck of a cooper s mini on that was a very rare one (sold for 20k) and Derek the owner of Matthewsons the auctioneers drilled out the rivets on the vin plate and removed it saying that all the unscrupulous restorers who were viewing the car needed was the vin number to copy the vin plate and re register a shell.
  19. Ive been using the Stihl comfort harness on my new FS560 for a couple of hours and i dont think the harness is ideal for this weight of strimmer, is the Husky Balance harness still regarded as the best out there.
  20. It was going up daily at my local BP (east yorks) its got to 199.9 and its stayed there for 2 weeks now. So no increase for a fortnight. Something fishys going on.
  21. There is a guy on here with a leather jump suit, motorbike helmet and a ladder thats not afraid of getting into tricky jobs, he may pop along with advice but its a while since we last heard from him.
  22. out of curiosity as to how different the stihl 2 blade is against the oregon 3 blade i picked up a stihl 2 blade cheap on ebay and ive tested it on the FS400 this afternoon, i can safely say i will not be using the oregon 3 blade again.
