  1. Did a bit of looking into this earlier.there is a chance it’s a large company who have a yard nearby in that small village .hes sold several off road bikes and had another in picture also another chipper and van in pics .pile of broken bikes/rubbish looks dodgey . 50/50 chance of stolen I’d say or bought as spares/repairs and bodged for resale . I did try a an almost new 130 unit the other week and thought it was underpowered .ok though but slow .the yellow ones are better
  2. Yes tis .tickets only 15£
  3. Bad business credentials.No touker time I’m afraid 😄
  4. Yes cls etc and building timber obviously ain’t daft (apart from the current high prices) but Christmas trees are and personally find it completely pointless .although I guess there’s a small chance some of them could be used for biomass if they are dumped in council tips but I think that’s only wood not garden stuffs
  5. All a daft idea people paying money for dead trees .Had an idea for a while renting them out in pots then plant them for timber when they too big .sure it would be popular with the latest the eco friendly malarkeys
  6. Know the feeling .today was a bit better with some sun until about 1230 then started going dark again .bit of a drag but 4pm seems to be the right time to stop at the moment before it gets too dark .so bang on 4 I’m off with no hanging about! usually know by the time by refuelling every half hour
  7. Anyone else find that time goes by slowly working outside with the dark days at the moment ? Like today it was hardly light at all and working near a road most cars had lights on for most the day .I know it doesn’t last that long but how to stay motivated? I had enough today and only lasted till 3.30

    SA Pines

Anyone else been reading they plan to remove 54k hectares of non native pines in an attempt to save water resources I wonder what they plan on doing with all that lumber .with all the talk of climate change it seems daft in a way as newly planted replacement native species might not do that well with the unpredictable weather
  9. Bit like the moped gangs in central London and too easy for them .police will just give a crime reference number and won’t even follow it up .instead busy handing out fines
  10. Surely it’s down to them to shift it round back .just tip it on drive less faff
  11. I am more worried if it’s happens when on a tall ladder with chainsaw or hedge cutter.they seem to favour very over grown privete hedge for some reason never seen any in beech etc yet. unlike bees they will sting/bite multiple times and not die, some latch on for some time
  12. I Was doing another tall hedge reduction today and got stung a few times but not hundreds .there was the same wasps and was expecting to maybe get attacked again but was ok .but in scenarios like that on a tall ladder what should you do if they all turned on you as falling off seems very likely.(I looked over it before going up but the nest was somewhere nearby)
  13. road tax rates could be high on motors like that .like nearly 600 quid on some estates I was just looking at
  14. He looked worried as the beach started to go.looked ott what they chopped .only probably happened cos he had a buyer for the wood
  15. Was it the one that looked like a glorified static caravan set on the top of a carpark roof 😂 . Probably one of the worst types of person to have to work for
  16. Win win then .not as entertaining read though as the chap on here that got bitten and slaughtered alive by wolves
  17. Probably wouldn’t have enough acorns anyways .
  18. Can’t workout either how they got right into my shoes and stung all over feet.out of everything that still hurts the most .
  19. What if they get bitten by angry squirrels up mrs miggins apple tree and loose there ears and ability to take orders from higher management .should they then be entitled to a longer lunch break from half hour to 45min or pay increase to £15 p.h or just be sacked
  20. Not sure exactly what they were .had a nest on the ground in ivy bush feeding on nectar. ice seems to be working, just lucky didn’t have saw in hand at the time
  21. Now outdone the angry hornet bites thread with an encounter with very aggressive wasps/bees today . I was bitten all over about 20-30 times after interfering with there den but didn’t realise it was a nest by that time though too late , suddenly hundreds came after me and so I ended up pulling top and shoes off which was covered in them and running away down the road to escape ! They were even biting my feet through shoes which now hurts the most .luckily they couldn’t get through jeans though or go for eyes ,.it seemed that when a few had bitten they had all got the signal to attack.what to do though when that many come after you?
  22. Still about 120 day rate.many factors to think about in this .like how hard the jobs are and what’s provided
  23. Anyway with hand cutting even if you do get bugger all like I did (too focused on cutting to spec and keeping site tidy and not maximising product output ) then it’s good for learning stuff you wouldn’t otherwise
  24. Likely Almost impossible.just trying to entice people in . piece rate fencing was the same and you’d only get there advertised day rate ie 200 if you’d spend the next week on the sofa recovering .working like that definitely not sustainable for over a few days
  25. on a similar subject Anyone been told to leave a job after only been there for a few hours .guy in house had to go out and thought he had to supervise or didn’t want people there etc .asked to re arrange another time to more convenient day to finish.major waste of time, he had also phoned the day before asking me to come ! Unbelievable
