  1. I know. I mean what does it even really mean. But by golly. The Chestnuts will be coming down soon and we can go on about roasting chestnuts on an open fire. 🥵
  2. Nice set up and big back garden!
  3. I was wondering the same about the two whites.
  4. Yes mate good shout, Juvenille Cormorant. It kept coming to the pond everyday for a couple of weeks, haven't seen it recently though. I guess it got bored of the fish in there.
  5. Nights are drawing in. First day of autumn here leaves coming down and a coolness in the air. Can't wait for winter. Last week was hottest it has been all year.
  6. A few recents a mix of good and bad.
  7. Thanks. Only just saw this post for some reason. Yes have been able to get the camera out a bit each day and luck will have it. 👍
  8. Had thought butterfly season was over, but seemingly not quite. a few from last week. Clouded yellow was a first for me. Rarely seen here.
  9. Love the deep colours, was that early morning?
  10. Very lucky to have that selection of butterflies. Looks like Queen of Spain Fritillary, Swallowtail, Purple Emperor or White Admiral. Where in the world are they?
  11. Seems fair Rob. I would rather not make an order for a single item from you anyway as it seems a waste of time and effort. I prefer to shove stuff into my basket and wait till I have what I need in there before ordering. I believe in the have two of everything rule so try to always by two of any small item to make it worthwhile. Anyway thanks for the update. Live long and prosper. Godspeed!!!!
  12. Well its okay if your sat in a cold bath with a cold bevy. Not sure about trying to work in it. supposed to be 29 tomorrow and 30 on Wednesday. I thought it was autumn last week, now its back to summer. Crikey!
  13. By chance spotted this Sparrowhawk having lunch.
  14. A few more butterflies since the last time. There’s the Brown Argus, Green veined white, small copper, Holly blue, Brimstone, Speckled wood, Common Blue and I think that’s it, feel free to comment on any I didn’t ID correctly.
  15. Hedge trimmer in a vice and flat file on each tooth. Potentially not the fastest route, but has always worked well. With these battery trimmers I am also less inclined to want to take them apart/remove the blades from the motor as it were. Obviously you have to turn the machine over in the vice to get to each tooth and each direction, much like sharpening a chainsaw in a vice. With the flat file you need to ensure you are angling the file upwards in the direction of the tooth as it gets narrower at the top. Today I whipped out a new oregon flat file bought from Rob D at chainsawbars, it had Swiss Made marked on it. Worked very well and sped up the process. So I will be buying more of those in the future. 👍
  16. Harvest and the combines have been out getting the big birds out looking for snacks. Took lots of photos and cropped a few of the better ones a lot to get something. Not the best clarity but nice to see anyway imho.
  17. On another note. Back when I was young and silly, I bought a husqvarna 445, I decided it would suit a long panther bar and chain and a new rim sprocket. Rob D got me the bits I needed and it worked out well. So it now has a 20" panther bar on with a 1/4" rim sprocket and panther chain. Cuts great and is a pleasure to use.
  18. Nothing too exciting. But I spent the afternnoon sharpening my hedge trimmers. It was good to get an edge back on those teeth, crikey, not sure how they were cutting anything. Disclaimer. These are work hedge trimmers, not personal and thus they get used by a number of people. Therefore I end up maintaining them.
