  1. Had an osatu years back. Leaky, uncomfortable and poor coverage. Wouldn't waste your money, go for cp or berthoud.
  2. Careful now, sounds like you'll end up spending your money on a hoe instead! I hear the dutch ones are good...
  3. Yup, they leak. not doing too bad if it's only the one! Plumbers tape can be your friend in these situations.
  4. Kdk scaffolding used to have "satisfaction guaranteed with every erection"... used to have one of their tshirts! They've since changed it to something dreary and boring, something safety and service blah blah something.. "Big Mickey.ie" a furniture store run by a large man named michael. Their tag line is "it's not what you think!" "The bloomin' shop" local florist. "Scratchit, cluck and co." - organic free range eggs. Theres an agri contractor near here that runs a few oldish zetors With "yer man's massey may be classy but my zetor is better" on the back windows. Fogartys Well drilling service "Where fogarty goes the water flows"
  5. Train them to an electric fence when they're young and they're not so bad.
  6. I was going to say, about twice the value of whatever chain oil is left in them, but seems I am wrong!
  7. Not being pedantic, but its Dowding. Could literally go the whole hog and get a few pigs to do it for you. It's a rotovator you can eat!
  8. Worth keeping an eye out for a pedestrian power harrow. Less "pully" than a rotovator and doesnt form a pan just below the tine level, important if you're repeatedly tilling the same patch of ground. A power harrow will also spread compost or manure for you, just dump a Barrow in front of it and drive through it with the tines just touching the ground! A company called Rinaldi make a version comparable with various two wheeled tractors
  9. They're not really set up for it, but it wouldn't take much adapting I guess, all I have is an lt15 but I sliced a few rings for table tops before, about 500 across, so not exactly "big" rounds. I just wedged it against the cross member and stuck a plank behind it, screwed them together and kept my foot on the plank to steady the piece. Certainly not a viable way of producing firewood. It was a case of getting two or three pieces off each round at about 8 cm, I reckoned the mill should be more accurate than the saw so I gave it a go, maybe theres potential for it to work for you. If you made up a "box" to sit into the frame of the mill and slid in the rounds, arranging them securely against each other, then run the mill down the rails. The theory works, not so sure of the practise. Also I'm not sure how the blades would cope cutting endgrain all the time. I'd rather be stood at the processor pulling levers.
  10. That is an epic piece of kit.
  11. Sika do a whole range of building materials. Very popular across russia and eastern Europe. They make excellent insulation and insulated blocks under the ytong brand.
  12. If I had to take 5 cm off a big ring I'd probably stick it on the woodmizer. Cant see how it would justify the investment to be honest, unless you're happy to put in long days for well below average pay.. might be more economical to sell less uniform logs at a reduced rate than to up the spec and eat into your time.
  13. Might be more apt to polish a skinny turd and stick a monacle on it.
  14. Did blec use the same tines on their beach/sand rakes? I know redexim bought them out but I think most parts are still available through their old dealer base. Could try campneys, martyns or charterhouse.. If all else fails, just remove two or three outermost tines and fill the gaps that way.
  15. A series of vertical cuts with a tenon saw, matching the angle of the blue line, an inch or so apart, chip waste out carefully with a chisel and finish with a hand plane, sand and seal. Done by lunchtime.
  16. Explains a lot!!?
  17. Thanks!
  18. Pistenbully 100, if you've got too much money!
  19. Had to split a big ash down the middle with the 660 to fit it on the mizer so please excuse the poor bookmatching! Nice timber though.. might squirrel away a pair for myself!
  20. Check out heumo.nl They sometimes have keenly priced alpines. We have one for tunnel work, bit scruffy but straight machine. Mostly horticultural stuff they do so doubt your find one with a winch there.
  21. This is the company, Heumo.nl They have a few alpines, may be worth ringing them.
  22. Cant remember the name now, tried the brother but no answer, when I either remember the name or find out from him I'll post a link.
  23. My brother recently got one from Holland, I'll find the name later. They had a great selection but mostly ex polytunnel and landscape machines so would need some mods for forestry work. Way way cheaper than uk prices. He ended up with an Antonio Carrera, approx 45hp for around 6k. Decent, basic machine which has excellent maneuverability. No front linkage at that money though.
  24. It always makes me smile when people mention this, reminds me of a friend who chopped in a peugeot people carrier yoke after a few years of endless hardship for a shiny new ford galaxy only to be shown (by me and another smug buddy) that it had the very same engine as his previous, much hated vehicle!
  25. Dont have one myself but I think thor are popular
