  3. Believe it or not £600 i paid
  4. Real good blade you should be getting a real good cut and a good belt sander would be quicker and a far better job finishing off a nice slab.

  8. I am on various satellite and woodworking forums and moderate on a couple and seems to work well,Joinery and carpentry are a very popular subject with the lads on here,And others i must add.
  9. Just wondering guys what are your thoughts on having a dedicated carpentry and joinery section,I know we have a woodcraft section but all the posts on woodworking are just one big list,Seems since a lot of the lads are trade guys as well as tree surgeon/groundies so might be nice to have,Been quite a lot of postings recently on things being made so be good to have sub sections to.Just a thought as i am on various forums and if it sounds like a good idea we can ask steve ??? ??
  10. That is to bring and cutting at my mill and yard,Pay one of the lads £12 an hour so decent profit
  11. Looks good mate ?
  12. The smaller ones no but most woodmizers i have seen are in the larger range,I have used the LT 40 and the thing is just an animal,Diesel power engine and will cut big stuff.Operator speed makes a big difference to.Had yours a while now so should be pretty quick at it,Did you get the trailer after mate ???
  13. I do not have a woodmizer andy but they are just a far superior saw on speed and most have hydraulic loading and self cutting operation
  14. I charge £30 an hour but customers bring timber to me,A woodmizer is a different beast so can produce a lot more timber in a day,Ready does depend on what area you live and every job is different.
  15. Things a beast and would 1 hour tops depending on what belt used ?
  16. Thanks stubby ?
  17. Greatest respect its your book not mine ?

  19. The oak will not be the same if oiled at 15% Never get the best out of that grain on andys bed if treated now
  20. My sander guys
  21. It wont rot the wood its just the best way to leave it dry out and it will be like iron when fully dry and then oil and the grain effects will be amazing ?
  22. This method of dowel joints is called draw boring andy 1) Drill the hole through the post first 2) Insert the tennon joint together and mark the centre of the dowel on the tennon 3) off set that by 2 mm as mentioned by our pals 4) When inserting the dowel make sure you put a shamfer on the one dowel end so it clears the entry if that makes sense
  23. Yes andy just leave it for 12 months buddy as it will dry out a hell of a lot more and it needs the air to get at it ,It will spoil the whole thing if you stain/wax it to soon
  24. Great to be talking my end of work now on here,You lads are all tree cutters (woodmen) I am joiner/carpenter time served and the arb side was always something i did as a young man,Old saying foot on the other shoe on this subject ? Watch out for your fingers andy ?
