  1. Something like this would do the job with a set of folks KUBOTA B5001 COMPACT MINI TRACTOR FRONT LOADER DIESEL 4WD FULL REFURBISHMENT
  2. That is the way i would be looking,Maybe something with a pto so can use other stuff via it.
  3. Some good lads posted in this thread.Very helping posts unlike some threads on here. ges
  4. Good point but what i was impressed with with martins setup was the hot water side,I think it was around a 300 litre tank that was always ready for use,Remember asking him how long would the water stay warm without lighting the boiler and he said around 4 days which sounded impressive to me.Its just something i came across which makes you think as a developer so being on a small scale as i am.
  5. Great return on just claiming your usage back year on year,When i say grant i meant you claim it back as the boiler is working so in effect you pay to put the system in and the grant side is your return on usage.
  6. Makes sense but i do not think you are factoring the grants that are available for these type of boilers and you can receive around 30 % back for the first 4 years i think it is on your usage,Martin my mate paid around 18k to put his system in and every year he goes online and puts in his meter readings of what he has used for the year and gets thousands back and he told me that its nearly paid for this year.Worth looking into surly.
  7. What about the small stuff that is not suitable to sell big j
  8. Pal of mine up in the brecon becons runs 2 houses via a biomass boiler and has the boiler and hot water tank fitted around 50 metres away from the houses in his barn where he cuts and mills all his timber,Its all piped under ground to the house and he feeds it all right by where he work so cutting out all the labour back and forth.
  9. Under floor heating which will give an even source of heat through out the house,Each area can be zoned so if it get to warm it can be turned down or off,You could go down the route of solar panels or a big option is a biomass boiler which you can get huge grants for and a good return for green usage,Very worth while looking into and why not go both.
  10. Any need for all the bad mouthing guys.
  11. As stated it's so easy to knock out of line and then logs will be out, we cut some big stuff and I load mine with my excavator
  12. I would put down a concrete base andy so you can bolt the saw to it.Needs to be aligned very straight or the saw will not cut true and the legs are adjustable.
  13. Its not a dealership as such in hereford,Its just one machine operated by pual a polish lad and he runs it like a dream,You go and view the saw operating and he will let you try it but that is about it as far as it goes. You then have pay for a new saw and wait 3 months for delivery.
  14. Fully agree with you on the frame,You need a solid platform to set any saw up so it stays nice and solid,Any slight movement and the saw will not cut straight.
  15. I would not advise anyone to get a trakmet for the simple reason there is no uk dealers as such,Believe me i have tried all these saws out and in no way am i calling the trakmet saws over as they are a great saw but only 1 uk dealer as such in hereford,The chap who runs one is pual who is polish and a very helpful guy but you have to pay up front and its a 3 months waiting time for delivery so can one imagine if you were to need any parts.
  16. You did right to buy new andy as the older ones can take so much work to get running right.
  17. 2 different locations at the moment hence 2 mills Big j
  18. We cut douglas fir all the time and the time it would take to chainsaw mill 25 ton would be weeks,3/4 days with a bandsaw mill so time is money in my book,If you phone chris mention les and he will know and i may be able to help if needed john.
  19. We have work for both to be honest.Go for a bandsaw mill every time as the work involved using a chainsaw mill is cut by two thirds,If your on a budget then go for the woodland HM 122 as start from £2400 and chis pearce is a uk dealer and a good friend of mine and so helpful,I spoke to him last week about andy getting a hm 130.
  20. Specially the welsh and scottish lads
  21. We have a woodland HM 130 but are looking closely at the logosaw one for the new year.
  22. What you will find is the market for a 12 months woodlands is just about the same value as a new one,Think how much work you can do in 12 months and then sell on the mill and may loose £300 and then upgrade.Never find any decent sawmills on the bay as people will just not get rid once you have one.
