  3. Pics!!! Like old properties! [emoji6]
  4. I’ve no kids, but same as you Mark, learned to do more things at home, not spend on pointless crap, appreciate the people closest to me a bit more, being single is prob the biggest downside as cant have any interaction, only with work colleagues and my dad mainly cos hes my “bubble” person. Hes on his own and has underlying health issues, so shop for him quite often. Really miss my pooch for the home comfort side of things too after losing her last year.

  8. Bad to say, this end of building looks fairly square on gable end with roof, but looks like it may have lost part of its roof at the back? So possible subsidence! Love coming across old stuff like that!

  16. Obviously, but capabilities for some and time in doing so dont always stack up. Sure there will be an economical resolve for the OP hopefully and if hes not in too much of a hurry for it. A good engineering shop would surely be able to sort thing i’m sure.
  17. The little end in the con rod you may not be able to buy separate, it may come as part/with the rod? So it may be a full new crank, @spudulike may be able to advise more? Woodroof key is probably a similar part on all other applications stihl do, not sure. Have you tried ringing Stihl uk or L&S Engineers and talking to someone, sure they would advise.
  18. Will it still run as is Steve or become obsolete eventually?
  19. Stove pod looks well [emoji106]
  20. Just get em kippered up now before fire goes in, it’ll be fine.
  21. Bloody things make my eyes water! Not looting them again!!! [emoji36]
  22. PVA is fine once dry regards the heat. If you left it alone then worst case (only guessing) it may dry the surfaces that much with the heat it attracts that it makes it dusty/flakey so over time you may lose the look of what is there now when dusting/cleaning round the fire. Regards gaining height? You could use a thin calibrated cut flag (18mm or 22mm) on a bed of mortar (20mm thick is) and only be talking around a 40mm raise 🤷‍♂️ up to you though.
  23. Can you not lay a aesthetically looking flag/stone in the bottom. Possibly spray a pva solution on your sides to keep/hold the original look, brushing pva on would smudge everything and turn it all black looking. Once dry a pva solution would not affect the look at all, dont use sbr or the likes as it could make it look shiny and milky looking. Nice bit of history there as others have said [emoji106]
  24. Same here, grey squares until you enter the thread, then sometimes takes a while before it actually shows/loads the pic. Using ios app. All photos Steve
