  1. I'm not a big fan of him myself, but ask yourself, why wasn't Alan Sugar treated the same for his Corbyn/Hitler tweet?
  2. I think it is about gagging him. He'd be back on the telly tonight if he agrees to stop tweeting about a selective subjects. As for his contract, I wouldn't know if he's broken it. If he has, why don't they let him go?
  3. This is not really to do with small boats, whatever your view on them is. It's about free speech. And a government backed BBC trying to stifle it.
  4. Not very! Closest I've been to the truck today
  5. Depends on the driveway surface material . Most natural stone, york/Indian are absorbant. Think you're knackered if it's that type. Whatever surface deal with it asap. I put sheets down on natural stone patios. The oil flicking off the chain can make a mess

    New socks

Can't you make a headband out of them?
  7. You'll find more in the 'House of Commons'
  8. If you have been over tightening the chain the evidence will be there on the sprocket. (Grooves worn). All chains stretch though, cheaper ones more so. Changing to a different brand is doable, but make sure everything matches, not just drive links. Probably best taking it somewhere initially, if you're not familiar with sizing
  9. She said a mewp is cheating
  10. Boards and sheets are useful. We use boards on wet grass as well occasionally. For the clients that expect you to dismantle a 50 ft tree and levitate out of the garden without touching anything. Which makes me wonder about this post. With the op having not seen the damage, it may be a something of nothing
  11. Having a quick read through the thread I can't work out whether you are employed or subbing now. Are you employed, with any benefits?
  12. What was the advice? Get a new truck?
  13. Arb is a very small percentage of usage for 3.5 trucks

    Royal mail

I've come across plenty of poor managers in my time, and that was their response if you ever raised objection, or offered an alternative way of doing something. It's not really the answer, you're just leaving a shit situation for someone else
  15. True. I'm not going to try and hide it. It's a decent pension. It's changed in recent years. I'm lucky
  16. Sadly, when I joined, late 80's, I would've recommended the job to anyone, not now. As with all public services, there has been a slow erosion of pay and conditions for, I would say the last 15 years. Recent events have just been the straw that has broken the camels back. It's hard for everyone at the minute. But if you are a union member of a large organisation withdrawing your labour can be the only way of getting your voice heard. Believe me, strikes aren't fun, the minute you go on strike you've lost. It's a failure on both sides. No one wants it and the only way to resolve is to talk. And at the moment, that's not happening
  17. I was in the fire service for 31 years. I receive a pension from that. (Having contributed on average 14% of my wage) into it. I have also had my own business. I suppose you are hoping to put me in check mate now?
  18. Retired
  19. Nobody, private or public sector 'get those things for nothing'
  20. Are you talking about negative inflation?
  21. And what does everyone else do? Put their prices up accordingly. This is all the nurses and paramedics are trying to do through negotiations via their representative bodies, which have failed due to one side refusing to negotiate
  22. And if that happens on a non strike day who do you blame? Because it is happening
