Ha ha. Like that. Forgot to mention tho, I changed spark plug and was exactly the same! Will look into coil tho. Carb kit first as it's cheaper?

Any ideas? Starts ok. Will idle ok. Pull the trigger and it runs for approx 20 secs and dies suddenly. Start her up again and does the same. Thought it might have been the breather. Blown and cleaned out. Same with fuel filter in tank and air filter cleaned. Problem started after a refuel, when I let it run out. (Try not to do that usually). Haven't looked at carb yet. Is that the next step? Thanks

Thanks Pete for putting me on to Gibson's. They've sorted me out. Very impressed with their service. Get this though, I've put everything back together and the top roller is going in the wrong direction on forward and reverse. How on earth have I managed that? All I can think is l manually turned the rollers to access the bolts, could this be the reason? I'm baffled (Not removed any hoses etc)

I thought drill a hole in the top of the wooden block, shove a fairy liquid top on it and jobs a goodn!!

I think it's been running with a drilled piece of hardwood in place of the square block. Only guessing!

What's missing from here please? Top feed roller Kwikchip 222 (old one with 625 lombardini). Is it a bearing in a square housing. Anyone had one and can think that far back? Even better, anyone breaking one and selling parts? Any help or advice appreciated. I've taken the bar and springs off! It's what is missing from the shaft that is concerning me Thanks

Sorry to bother you, out of the blue. I was looking over some old posts. Have you still got the pdf for an early kwikchip 222? You mentioned having one in German.
I only took the rollers off to put an edge on them, but now the top roller isn't sitting right. It's like I've missed something, anyway, thanks if you can send it

Hi Anyone got a p df parts manual for an old kwikchip 222 with the lombardini 9ld 625 engine? I only took the feed rollers out to sharpen them, but they are not sitting right when I put them back. It's like I'm missing something. Thanks

All sorted. (For now, anyway). Thanks for all the replies. I tapped the motor with a hammer, and it's working now. My type of mechanics. Pick a suitable hammer and hit it!

Mitsubishi L200. My mate suggested tapping the motor with a hammer (as you would a starter motor) and that has worked. Don't want to be doing that all the time tho, just hoping it happened because it's not been used for a few weeks whilst I've been on hols

Can anyone help me with a method of fault finding for my hydraulic ram tipper.? Not sure where to start. It hasn't been used for 3 weeks, but was working fine. Don't know the make, it's operated remotely, light comes on the remote control and there is a clicking noise when pressed, but that is it. No movement of the ram at all. Can't check reservoir for fluid level, but was ok 3 weeks ago, and no evidence of a leak. Don't want to just start taking it apart, I'm sure there must be a correct method of doing things, Thanks

I think you're right. I've noticed the inline fuel filter on my chipper picking up more during the dry spell. You can get cleanable inline filters. But, the ones I've seen are metal cartridges, and you can't see when they need cleaning. I use the disposable type. You can buy 10 for about £12 on web.

Aerial rescue is definitely one of those situations where 'prevention is better than cure'. But even when all precautions are taken things happen. What's dissapointing is, we do everything we can to satisfy hse, insurance companies and when something happens, as in Sean's case, it's still a battle. Incidentally, who climbs with a first aid kit? I may be heading for a slating here, but l don't. If l nick myself l either carry on or come down and sort it out, if it was serious, what on earth can you do in a tree with a first aid kit!

If you've been paying £9 from the day he started l think a rise is due. He still has things to learn, but think back to when he started and you had to tell him everything. As people are saying, it sounds like he is considering looking elsewhere. Do you want to start again with someone new, who may not be as keen

I understand what you are saying, and yes, qualifications are important. More so now than ever. But. I learnt more about tree work from a guy in the eighties though, who didn't have a qualification to his name. He also didn't have a chipper at the time, but that's another story!!!
