    Decided I'm going for it. O licence application in. I do 90% of the driving anyway. So that won't be an issue. Probably get out of a bit of heavy work, if anything.

    I've got my digital tacho. But only used it working for someone. Is the procedure for submitting straight forward? All electronic?

    Van packed in a few weeks ago. Got box and tool pod off it and put them on an older transit to get me through Xmas. Long term, debating another 3.5 or 5/6. Advantages, carry more, less trips, not the worry of overload. Disadvantages, more expensive to run, access etc. Is insurance more? Is there anything else I should consider? Thanks
  6. Just on the 45p per mile for hmrc. How many years has that been set? At least 25 years, to my knowledge. Surely that's due an increase.
  7. Good advice Thanks. I've always used super unleaded since they increased the ethanol. Bit of a tangent. Fueled up the transit the other day (diesel). Not at my usual petrol station. It was low on fuel. Immediately after we left the petrol station engine started pinking/knocking. Maybe coincidence. It idles, runs, a bit of loss of power. Googled it. Plenty of suggestions that it could be fuel pump solenoid. I'm not convinced. Changed fuel filter, didn't do anything. Before I go for solenoid, any other suggestions? Thanks

  9. Thanks. Plastic tank. The funny shaped one like a doughnut. Yes it's got a 3/8 dowty washer. That would be nice if it's got a non fuel type and that's all it needs. Do most motor factors sell them? Also a bit frustrating that I mightve bought a new tank 4 years ago and all I needed was a washer!
  10. Tw 190 fuel tank leak from drain plug. Only weeping, it's happened before. I went down the new tank route previously. Has anyone found anything to successfully repair? It's a bit of a fault on these tanks I believe. Not really sure why they have a drain plug. Every garage I know sucks fuel out of tanks if they have to. Is it a requirement?
  11. No experience on 160, but sounds electrical. Fuse is a good shout. If low oil cut off has activated, I'd of thought there would be some sort of reset procedure. Topping up or changing oil probably won't do it
  12. There's lots of motorbikes out there with engines not matching the frames. It devalues them, but doesn't mean they're all stolen. I'd just take the seller for his word, unless some other information comes to light
  13. That's plausible. Does it look like the chassis has been replaced? I suppose it must've been. Can't think of any other reason the numbers don't match.
  14. If it wasn't for the photographi evidence, i was wondering whether the thread was a wind up. Can I borrow this pic for my next health and safety seminar? Peter, I hope you've learnt something here. It might be hard if your father in law dominates most things, but that's your site. I'm sure you'd be horrified if the next old fella your working for picks up the big saw and fires it up. Its no different really.

    190 not working

    There's a sensor that ensures you can't start it with the chute up. See pic. Ignore red arrow. The little bolt (black circle) It can get dirty or need adjusting to make connection. Might not be that at all. But worth checking
