  1. old and ugly? ok, I can see the logic
  2. yes
  3. Yes. Oil on full. Thanks guys. I will buy a new lo pro and see
  4. i've noticed for some time that "junior" member and "senior" member don't seem to show any correlation with how long someone has been a member or how many posts they done. And it certainly isn't on age. how is the seniority worked out? cash in an envelope to one of the Steves?
  5. That sounds logical. At first I thought nah, good money after bad but the lo pro does cut well so I might. I uploaded a video close up of one of the lo pros. Thanks a lot for for time
  6. Second one a bit neater
  7. First one repaired. It only seems to be the left sided cutters that are snapping???
  8. This one is original. granted my repairs are not perfect but remember it only needed repairing in the first place due to snapping?
  9. I wondered that. I will try and mark the next repairs. edit. just realised, no need as you can see the parred rivet anyway?
  10. My son is currently working in Whistler near Vancouver. He served Justin Trudeau some chicken wings on New Year’s Eve
  11. I’ve changed my mind about using the lo pro regardless. Ok I only need to wind the saw thru the wood with two fingers and the 3/8 is a lot slower but when they snap it takes a good 10 minutes removing the cradle/gib and replacing the chain not to mention the time it takes to replace the link. I shall keep em in reserve. Will post a pic when I finish work
  12. I was out yesterday and 2 snapped. one after only 30 minutes. the bar looks fine etc etc. I have about 4 or five low pros and been milling with them for 2 years and replaced links when they snap but to be honest I have come to the conclusion they are perhaps not robust enough for several hours continuous milling. when I get round to it I will post a video of the 2 different systems in action, photos and ask for views. oil on max, new sprocket. any advice more than welcome
  13. That took me a while. My involuntary eye movements always go to the nipples. Normal physiological response apparently
  14. Even if you retire them from safety critical uses why throw them away? I’m always looking for old ones for some use or other
  15. They work well too. Zero condensation
  16. Brilliant
  17. I opportunistically shoot pheasant (and the rest) but can’t abide the shoot brigade. My next door neighbour farmer told me last week a shoot close to his Dad’s just buried 450 pheasants the wankers had just shot. All you need to know really
  18. I know what you mean. Not everyone has the same sense of humour and some “grumpy old men” (and women) don’t have any but I suppose it’s a free country so each to their own
  19. Funny. I’ve never heard of a cantankerous Yorkshireman. Mind, I don’t get out much
  20. What’s the topic? Title suggests over 50 and your in
  21. More debacle about non existent ferry services I found in the Irish Times. Aer Lingus offered up it sister company Sea Lingus for the channel tender. PM May declined stating she had previously had a bad experience with Sea Lingus, getting into a sticky mess with Irish seamen in Rosslare. The Irish Times editorial quite rightly says policy decisions should never be taken over a verbal conversion and should be put in writing so this sort of confusion doesn’t arise.
  22. Clever is an understatement. I have diplomas?
