  1. Take the workshop charger with you and plug in at clients (if domestic). Or get another couple of batteries. That drain can't be good if the engines not running.
  2. We can get onto "very advanced" (Hooking, square cut etc) Later mate.[emoji12] If stihlGB technical have to contact head office in Germany for advice, I'd say it's advanced for most. [emoji848][emoji12][emoji106]
  3. Thanks Paul, Yes this is what I'm trying to get at. [emoji106]
  4. Thought you used to run racing saws stubby?
  5. That's a cracker! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

So what's happening? They taking the saw back?
  7. Good stuff. Then you'd probably need a stihl ms461 or 462 with a 3/8 chain and 25" bar. Just be aware it's nothing like a 40/50cc saw. Make sure your ppe is up to standard. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  8. Warning!!! This is not for beginners/novices. For professional users only. So.... Image 1 Image 2 I'm having a long conversation with stihl about dropping a file size when the chain is about halfway done. As the side plate angle goes to 90degrees, or you file into the tie strap if you use the same size file. Either is not good. My boss (a very knowledgeable and a decent bloke) totally disagrees. Same size file all the way. Stihl GB have been very thoughtful, this is their email. What file size do you use? Do you drop a file size or always use the same size? [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  9. No1 learn to sharpen a chain from a professional. No2, a 2m dbh tree is not for novices. Even 12"dbh or smaller trees will maim and kill. No3 yes. Get a professional in. No4 a larger 70cc is a beast. A dangerous one. Get a professional in with one instead. No5 Don't buy a new saw. Spend your money on a cs30&cs31 course. You will live longer. After you've done all the above, then consider getting a bigger saw. Stay safe. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  10. What's the thickness of your kerf with 3/8LP?
  11. Got a close up photo of the chain which snapped?
  12. I know a guy with some expensive unusual kit, gets lots of work from posting pics. [emoji106]
  13. The other half of the first sentence is "or paye if required". [emoji848]
  14. Is he missing 1 or 2 wheels on the trailer? [emoji106]
  15. The French... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  16. 25" 3/8 1.6 84 drive links (I think) For a stihl 461. Pm me the price and I'll get them. Will do you a video. [emoji106]
  17. How about a video showing the increased cutting speed compared to other brands? [emoji106]
  18. I've used "myhermes" a few times. They lost a 25" bar. But paid out on insurance. Remember to take the bar and chain off and mark the box as "small engine". As most couriers won't take "chainsaws". [emoji106]
  19. Get a decent chain grinder. Re set all teeth and depth gauges. Check your depth gauges with a straight edge and feeler gauge Don't grind into the tie strap. [emoji106]
  20. Can you winch it onto a trailer and take it to a mill? [emoji106]
  21. At what stage is the chain snapping? New, half used, or near the end? [emoji106]
  22. Watching "tree surgeons" Trying to fell trees is always a giggle. Especially when they use a top handle saw. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
