[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji108] My very first coppice job with a drunken Breton farmer, he would pull an overloaded trailer up steep green lanes with only the back two wheels of the tractor(held together with barbed wire) on the ground and me on the stacked trailer bricking it. Everyday for three months. [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51]

What are you driving and what's on the back? Does it work well, what kind of work? This is my latest setup: Freelander 1.8 petrol and unbraked 8x4 trailer. Got a small winch to pull small logs on, greedy boards and a grilled ramp. It'll hold all my saw, mills and gear, ladders and logs/slabs in the trailer. Hopefully I'll be adding a 4" chipper in the next few months. Cost £690 for the freelander and £400 for the trailer. Very cheap and versatile for subbing or milling. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Nooooo! Avoid crap makes at all costs. Plenty of old Dino-saws still about. Stihl 051,056super,070,075,076,084,088,090 Wouldn't recommend milling with less than 90cc. 120cc is better. Get a big saw off an arbtalker for £2-300. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Avoid cutting as highly carcinogenic sawdust. Winch or crane jobby.

It depends on the tree. Leaning or twisted tree is firewood. Dead vertical, no branches, Over 20" maybe worth it as euc is stunning timber. Used a lot in plywood. [emoji106]

Forestry is hit and miss. Some great crews out there, and some proper cowboys too.

I'm limited to 42" at the moment, but I have plans on a mega 1.8m mill. Broke a piece the mill today, one of the horizontal bars holding the vertical had a hairline crack. Unbolted it all and it fell in half.[emoji51] Might have to upgrade in the next few months. [emoji848][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

I'm in Huddersfield, Cut up a large oak for a client before Christmas. 8-9' x 3.5' x3" slabs Most of my clients are interested in selling slabs, so I have access to quite a selection. [emoji106]
