    Stihl 070

Been offered an old 070, Looks ok, but I suspect it will need new pot n piston, carb kit, lines and pipes filters etc I can buy a new 070 in the Philippines for about £8-900. New parts for the saw are about £5-600 He's a decent bloke who offered it to me, so I'd like to offer a fair price. Honestly I'm thinking £100. What do you guys think the value is? [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  4. Seriously??? Have none of you been to Brighton before? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

  8. This ones for you guys over the channel. Got a call from my parents this evening, France telecom want to install fibre optics to the hamlet. They informed my parents 30 days to cut the trees under the lines or €1500 fine. It's a real easy job for a climber, cut and chuck. A few small ash 4-5" dbh One lime will need climbing and hacking. The rest is a few willow over grown. Don't need to chip or remove anything from site. Good access and parking. If your quote is cheaper than my air fare you've got the job. Loire atlantique/ille et villaine Grand Fougeray @tykorrigan you about? Best bit about this job is you'll meet my folks. Quite simply two of most decent people you'll ever meet. Great lunch and a gin and tonic after work? Pm please. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  9. Cheers Yorkshire B, This is exactly what I meant about moving big timber. If I could get 8x300kg of these slabs (2.4t) in a 3.5t trailer... Cut the last few slabs off the big cant this morning You can see the snowy mountains of the Isle of Arran in the distance. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

  14. Trimmed free hand with a 661 36" Bit of an arse about, slipping on the iced logs. Bigger mill????? Hell yeah!!!!! Looking to go 180cm cannon bar and build a mill to match. Seriously considering skip chain or granberg ripping chain for it too. Bit worried about bar sag [emoji51]

  16. Think I'm going to need a rolling pin Steve. I like that 5mm thing too. Would burr/pippy oak be any good? [emoji106]
  17. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji106] It's true! I can't climb. Well I can but not for money.[emoji848] A ticket is meaningless on the job, but to get the job... Experience will allow you to do a job safely, efficiently and quickly. A ticket will get you on site. If I were in your position get all the tickets you can. Then go learn the job from a decent firm. [emoji106]
  18. You buy tickets with cash, You earn experience with time. Get as many tickets as you can big trees, windblown, climbing etc. Then work for a decent firm and learn from them. Good luck [emoji106]
  19. Really needed a guy like you today Don, Even with a tractor and loader. Best wishes on a speedy recovery[emoji106] Heavy, heavy slabs 300+kg This log had to be trimmed to 100cm wide before milling. [emoji3][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
