Hahahaha yeah I remember all of those. Just gives the whole industry a bad name. I still go a price jobs for some of our elderly generation who try and pay for my fuel or pay a deposit on the Work and it breaks my heart as you know that there are a lot of bad ones out there which would snap there hands off. Why would a Tree surgeon need a a deposit for anything as the out lay has already been doting the equipment

Really good reduction Steve good save on a nice tree it still shocks me that in this day an age people get away with doing that to trees and get paid for it. I would of done exactly the same or walked away from the job if the customer wanted different

Yes Matt they were ruthless night and day robbing everything, lots of businesses in here in Plymouth suffered badly, and a crap result in the end.

Haven’t got a Landy but my hilux conversation looks the same and I was advised from the company that my original 5 leaf springs would be ok, they weren’t at all chipper and basic kit slammed it on the ground. Upgrade to a 7 leaf spring instead, massive difference and had them on for four years now and still great. Got my leaf springs from , midland road springs.

Does the pay vary from a Groundsman to a climber? Where did you live and Work? Are you back in the uk now ? If so would you not go and live there with a family?

Yeah my wife is taking her exams in the next few weeks as she has to do an English speaking and writing exam even though she’s British. We see the cost of living is high but wages higher there than here, I can earn what I’m earning here in the uk after Tax over there but with no business over heads or day to day stress of it all , go to work do my job and come home and enjoy.Its the quality of life we are looking for and being better off each month so we see it as win win for us. My concerns were my age but was hoping my experience would out way it I’ve just turned 35. Do you come across many critters in the trees as heard those huntsman have a good jump on them? Where are you based? Thanks for the info also always appreciated.

Been an arborist for 18 years now, worked with a few firms when I started and have had my own business for the last 9 years. We are looking at relocating to Brisbane in the new year, my wife is a children’s nurse and have two young children, she has a couple of friends out there who have helped with a lot of information which has been great. Have seen quite a few jobs going full time and short contract stuff, I will be looking for full time with a company.

Looking at moving out next year to Brisbane, anyone on here or living out there who has any advice? Anything would be appreciated.
