  1. So how can you be the worlds leading brand if said companies manufacture their own blades the same as you do? If you where the worlds leading brand they would still use your blades over their own as yours would surely be better than theirs?! On your cost logic then surely it would be cheaper for said companies to manufacture their own engines would it not?
  2. If you are the leading brand (as you say) and your price is cheaper than everyone else’s due to in house manufacturing (as you say) why don’t Timberwolf, Jensen etc etc buy blades from yourselves and send the machines out from factory fitted with Rotatech Blades? After all timberwolf, Jensen etc etc don’t manufacture and supply their own engines they outsource and buy in the best to give there product the best chance of selling against other brands as well as reliability.

    365 vs 372

    Which one and why? thanks.
  4. I see what your saying but there was no damage. Thanks.
  5. Thanks Don.
  6. I’m all for tech Don but I didn’t climb this one, our other climber did and he likes things as simple as possible. He’s 20 years experience and still will not be tempted away from a prussic but boy he can climb! Me and another lad where running the ropes and it wasn’t too bad but I know what you mean when a mate needs a lift we use his bollard and it is brilliant whether your in the tree or on the floor. The guy in the tree being happy is what we go on whether that’s me, the guy in the video or a.n other as long as it’s done safely and we all go home.
  7. If I’m being honest for about 20 minutes it was horrible but once we got into the swing you kind of forget where you are as the concentration is full on all day! 98% was roped down, it was 2 long days.
  8. Forgive me on the editing etc. 1st attempt of a YouTube video, I’m sure the more I do the more they will improve.

Stripped it cleaned it with carb cleaner then rebuilt it and double bubbled the snapped piece back in situ. It’s worked for now, ill keep my eye out for a spare carb in case the repair doesn’t hold but a couple of days ago it was just a little side project when having a brew, was given the saw so nothing lost and all that! Turns out to be a little cracker.

I doubt it! I rate the husky though I think it is better than the new stihl topper. It begs the question though why did stihl get it right but have now dropped the ball?

Bill a mate of mine thinks he has one in storage I’m nipping up to see him this week but if he doesn’t ill take you up on that kind offer!
  21. Shame! I know now what you are aiming for ie topping and pollarding. Trees have a life expectancy that said like humans they don’t all reach it pruned, topped, pollarded or left alone.

Luckily the piece of cast with the screw which they had snapped was in the casing of the saw, spent today repairing it. Kicked it up and it sounds sweet! Next job order a bar and chain and try it out! if I think on I’ll take some more pics and maybe a video of the saw running. It has a really nice sound to it!
  23. Absolutely not!! I was in France this year Sablet/l’orange/vaison la romaine and the amount of Planes that where in a pollard cycle was impressive. Avenues upon avenues upon avenues of planes all in a cycle they looked in excellent health and these where big trees with probably 3 options 1) pollard cycle to keep them for as long as possible 2) remove them in fear of allowing them to grow too large 3) leave them and wait for them to fail and cause damage to buildings, roads, cars, people etc. I think if the decision was mine I would have chosen the same option as the French have.

No the mix screw is on the side of the carb, the carb looks like it’s made of an alloy cast of sorts and whoever had it originally probably tried to alter the mix and instead of unscrewing it snapped it! It looks easily done to be fair but the saw looks like it hasn’t done a lot of work the exhaust is still looking new the dog teeth look new clutch etc the same so because of that I’m going to try and source a carb and get it up and running even as a back up back up or to use it every now and then out of novelty.
