  1. I use an 088. Its a great saw as well if your budget cant stretch to a fancy 880. I used a 064 with my 36" Mill and that was also perfect for the smaller Mill. A 038 is simply to small for Hardwoods in my opinion. Maybe ok if you're just knocking out skinny softwood I guess?
  2. I see Logosol is coming out with an App to help run it. Punch in some parameters and it gives you the settings etc.
  3. That was my thinking. Hit a Nail with a Band and you've instantly lost a £30-£35 Blade. Hit a Nail with a Chain and you just have to resharpen it, maybe take 1-2mm off. I'm not proud to admit it but Ive hit the log rests twice now with my Logosol Mill. Both times just kissed it and the bands where savable. I was watching the Norwood vids with some nice old guy in the US doing training vids and he said to keep watching and checking the log rests so as not to cut into them. Then promptly cut into the log rests.
  4. I have the same set-up on my Mill. Is certainly handy seeing the Band Tension Adjuster when Towing.
  5. Cool, so you get good results with it? I like this kit as its the whole package including Logosols freshly designed insulated box for drying in.
  6. I recon that Hi-Vis vest tied around the tension handle could tell a story.
  7. Id pop into the clinic for that.
  8. Handy those little Granberg's eh? Did you nee to remove much material off the Chain?
  9. Ah bugger so he was. I was on my phone at the time and can see it more clearly on my Laptop.
  10. About the WDU? Let me know how it goes. Im interested.
  11. No, every picture Ive ever posted has been ripped off of the net...... I should clarify that Ive never found a nail when using my Bandsaw Mill. Ive found plenty when Alaskan Milling. But since Dave was Milling with his Bandsaw I replied to his post in context. Hitting a nail with a Chain is annoying but rectifiable. I'l assume it kills your Bandsaw Blade. Bit of a difference I think.
  12. Nice looking set up I think? Perfect for someone who does this for a Hobby like myself. Id assume you could market Kiln Dried Slabs more easily too? Complete package with drying chamber (WDK) and wood drying unit (WDU) | Wood Drying | More Products | LOGOSOL WWW.LOGOSOL.CO.UK <p>Logosol’s drying chamber is a smart solution with an insulated inner tent and a protective outer tent that are...
  13. How frustrating! Im yet to find any nails yet thankfully. Left an interesting stain in the wood if nothing else?
  14. How much is the fine if you take your family for a walk in the forest? Could be a price worth paying? I doubt the Police will be bothered these days considering the easing we're seeing in Scotland and England in the next few days, and if everyone else in your area is out why not join them?
  15. I bet you believe that too.
  16. I agree, but might be handy just to confirm 100%. If its Crooked I think Id be inclined to do as the Op says and submerge in water till fully soaked (if thats possible) and re-weight it. Especially if time is not a constraint.
  17. This is my thinking as well.
  18. This might help to clarify. Im still not 100% which way the Slab is cupped.
  19. Supposedly all 33,000 members here will be outta a job within 10 years and replaced by robots. Simples I guess?
  20. What technology?
  21. Most jobs will be automated in a decade or so? Don't be so melodramatic. That is simply not going to happen.
  22. The X27 is fine of the logs are fresh and not very knotty. But then I find the handle to long for easy logs. The Head is to light for anything Gnarly, or at least you're wasting a lot of time and energy blow after blow. I think the X25, which has the same head weight as the X27 would be better suited, at least for myself anyway. The distance you need to be away from the log for using the X27 for regular splitting is frustrating. I use a Husky S1600 for that, but its a bit short. So I feel the X25 would be the Sweet Spot for me.
  23. Well with that view I'm glad you realise you'd be terrible. No it certainly would not be nice for everyone to have that option. Dont work but can? Then dont eat. Simple as.
  24. Ive only ever used a Solid nosed 48" Duramatic Bar, tension has never been an issue. Couple of passes and a wee adjustment, nothing more. Obviously a new chain will stretch regardless. I use/used a 3/8" Low Pro bar with my 36" Mill, no better or worse for tension than the Solid Nosed Duromatic.
