  1. Its another reason I like the Granberg Precision Grinder. Once you have sharpened all the teeth to the same length you can then rotate the grinder 90 degrees to the chain, kiss the grinder on the tip of the tooth then very accurately select the depth of the raker with a few clicks. Accurate and precise each and every time, even in the field.
  2. We already have 'a centralised decision making fork.' We're being legislated against for what Stoves are allowed to be sold with restrictions getting ever tighter. Is this Customer driven? I certainly dont think so. Now we're getting told what MC wood needs to be set at. Is this something the customer is demanding? Yet again Id say no. This repeats in all walks of our lives, none of it Customer led. The customer may well set the market but they do so within a given perimeter. Legislation sets that perimeter. If we're going down this Nanny State of rules and regulations for every facet of our lives and having the sale of firewood controlled to such a degree that Kiln Dried Firewood is to become the new norm and almost enforced, encouraged by the suppliers and then blindly demanded by the consumer then yes, I feel we need legislation put in place to halt and then reverse the farce we're now facing.
  3. kind of. Id say legislation is the ultimate deciding factor on how a supply chain works. As kiln drying is clearly a colossal waste of energy and CO2 for firewood production then if the correct legislation and information was available to the customer as to why its no longer available then Air dried would return to being the norm. Seller who sell their logs as kiln Dried when in fact they are using a Solar Kiln or a Polytunnel are confusing the issue somewhat and I can see why they would want to jump on the Kiln dried bandwagon. Im my eyes they are just air drying but more efficiently. Something that could be legislated for if kiln dried, ie,real kiln drying was withdrawn for the obvious environmental impact.
  4. OK, not had an issue using Stihl or GB Bars for the last three years. I guess it does not have to be Sugi Bars, just personal preference?
  5. Not me. Making more money than ever.
  6. You keep saying each to their own but you're also calling him out for his choices? Which is it?
  7. I will, but surely you see the irony of calling him out for his choices?
  8. Well, you can see where a risk lies but still want your chicken. You may feel its a risk worth taking based on your own personal circumstances but still realise its inherent risk to others who might not be as spatially aware. So it could well be a good idea to inform the Shop Owners of what appears to be an oversight. Personally I don't give two sheets to C-19 now so a man with it breathing down my neck and spreading it around to others who are as equally happy to take the risks bothers me not one iota.
  9. I use an 088. Its a great saw as well if your budget cant stretch to a fancy 880. I used a 064 with my 36" Mill and that was also perfect for the smaller Mill. A 038 is simply to small for Hardwoods in my opinion. Maybe ok if you're just knocking out skinny softwood I guess?
  10. I see Logosol is coming out with an App to help run it. Punch in some parameters and it gives you the settings etc.
  11. That was my thinking. Hit a Nail with a Band and you've instantly lost a £30-£35 Blade. Hit a Nail with a Chain and you just have to resharpen it, maybe take 1-2mm off. I'm not proud to admit it but Ive hit the log rests twice now with my Logosol Mill. Both times just kissed it and the bands where savable. I was watching the Norwood vids with some nice old guy in the US doing training vids and he said to keep watching and checking the log rests so as not to cut into them. Then promptly cut into the log rests.
  12. I have the same set-up on my Mill. Is certainly handy seeing the Band Tension Adjuster when Towing.
  13. Cool, so you get good results with it? I like this kit as its the whole package including Logosols freshly designed insulated box for drying in.
  14. I recon that Hi-Vis vest tied around the tension handle could tell a story.
  15. Id pop into the clinic for that.
  16. Handy those little Granberg's eh? Did you nee to remove much material off the Chain?
  17. Ah bugger so he was. I was on my phone at the time and can see it more clearly on my Laptop.
  18. About the WDU? Let me know how it goes. Im interested.
  19. No, every picture Ive ever posted has been ripped off of the net...... I should clarify that Ive never found a nail when using my Bandsaw Mill. Ive found plenty when Alaskan Milling. But since Dave was Milling with his Bandsaw I replied to his post in context. Hitting a nail with a Chain is annoying but rectifiable. I'l assume it kills your Bandsaw Blade. Bit of a difference I think.
  20. Nice looking set up I think? Perfect for someone who does this for a Hobby like myself. Id assume you could market Kiln Dried Slabs more easily too? Complete package with drying chamber (WDK) and wood drying unit (WDU) | Wood Drying | More Products | LOGOSOL WWW.LOGOSOL.CO.UK <p>Logosol’s drying chamber is a smart solution with an insulated inner tent and a protective outer tent that are...
  21. How frustrating! Im yet to find any nails yet thankfully. Left an interesting stain in the wood if nothing else?
  22. How much is the fine if you take your family for a walk in the forest? Could be a price worth paying? I doubt the Police will be bothered these days considering the easing we're seeing in Scotland and England in the next few days, and if everyone else in your area is out why not join them?
