  1. Nope, just the lesser of two evils. Politics these days seems to be a race to the bottom and the only option we're left with is voting for the party one rung up.
  2. Thats what Id do as well.
  3. Me to. Seems like the most draconian and ineptitude is displayed in Scotland and Wales though.
  4. Thats great. Thanks for sharing that thought.
  5. Yes, I do try and avoid wearing a mask and yes Im not activly distancing. What risk am I putting my family in? Yet again we have had C-19, confirmed by the NHS. As its been repeatedly stated the vast and I mean vast majority of those that have any serious reaction to C-19 are the very old, the very fat and those who fall into these categories and also have underlying health issues. Thats why the average age of people dying from C-19 in the UK is 82, kinda the same as the common cold. And no, it does not go against 'all medical science'. Coronavirus: Health experts join global anti-lockdown movement WWW.BBC.COM Scientists warn of the "devastating" effect of Covid-19 policies, calling for a return to normal for healthy people. Where have I stated the government is genocidal? You putting words in my mouth and using hyperbole to create a Strawman.
  6. To whom are you referring or is it just a general rant?
  7. 100% yes. Even turning a big log will most likely move the mill around. And As you've got the Max then I'll assume thats gonna get pushed ever once in a while.
  8. Good! And may I continue to do so.
  9. As I said, I am, for the most part. I really dont have a choice if I wanna put food on the table. I dont have to agree with it or remain silent about it either. But the reality of it is most folk round me are just ignoring it all. We still have folk over, we still all shake hands, we all stand side-by-side and have a blether. The Council Contractors are working outside the house just now. Road closed jobbie. All carrying on as if it never happened, which is quite encouraging really. Happy for me to pop down, have a chat, see whats going on and bring them brews. They even dug a tree out I was wanting rid of for me, which was nice. I dont agree with that. It seems like more and more old folk dont agree with that either. A 'managed' death? What even is that? Sounds like something Aldous Huxley coined. The old dont seem to want a 'managed' isolated death protracted over a long and fruitless period of time. They want their loved ones around them. Apart from pay a fair amount of tax, obviously.
  10. Doing what Im told, ie following the current instructions of the Government is going to protect my family to the utmost. So yes, the welfare of my family is paramount. Where there to be instructions that I felt put my family at risk I would not follow them, an example would be forced vaccination of my family for C-19. This is not the case yet but we certainly seem to be heading down that road. There is nothing the Government is suggesting I/we do that would harm my family, when did I indicate that was the case? Ive stated Im not happy following the ever increasing restrictions that have been put in place for what I believe is no good reason. Ive not once mentioned following these restrictions put me or my family at risk. And as Ive mentioned before, my family has had a confirmed C-19 via the NHS. Ive covered this here before. But the beauty of this crock is empirical evidence is worthless becuase somebody somewhere might not be so 'lucky'. There is certainly people that need to sheild from C-19, the very old, the very sick and those with underlying health conditions. The average age of people dying from C-19 in the UK is 82 and a half. Look at what we're doing to the uk over cased of people essentially getting the flu and dying from it, like what happens year in year out. Where was the 'shielding' for all the coffin dodgers for the last 20 years? Only now has it become an issue? And then we have Sweden bucking the trend and showing the world what an utter crock of BS this all really is.
  11. There's very little anyone can do other than voice their objections. I certainly cant do much as my job depends on me following the rules to allow me to travel out of the country. But if enough people said this is BS, Im not doing it the governments would think again. A previous example would be the Poll Tax and a more recent example would be what the BLM 'protesters' get away with. Their wanton destruction all in the name of a cause they feel very strongly about had them protesting with almost impunity and institutions falling over themselves to do their bidding. Where enough people to have the same convictions regarding Covid, boycotting stores like Tesco that happily cover up 'non essentials' then they would soon take a different approach.
  12. Breaking News - Guards are BACK on the Irish border WWW.EUROWEEKLYNEWS.COM THE Garda are back on the Irish border and carrying out checks on drivers after the highest-level lockdowns were... Doubt there will be any outrage. They'll just meekly do as they are told. (like us). Dublin to prosecute people making non-essential travel, with fines of up to €2,500 and jail for up to six months. 6 months in jail for a non essential journey? I seriously cant believe Im reading this. Yes, its quite frightening really how we've all been so cleverly manipulated into this fear induced acceptance of these now seemingly endless restrictions and how we'll all happily dob each other in over some spooky virus. Really does seem like a problem, reaction, solution scenario. The reaction being the people so scared that they are begging to have our liberties withdrawn for our own supposed benefit.
  13. I see the Irish Boarder is now manned again and boarder inspections as to whom is allowed to cross is now in place. All in the name of C-19. You could not make it up yet the vast majority are quite happy to go along with it. Utter madness.
  14. Ive not heard or read of one of this QAnon guy/group's theorioes but you do seem to fit into the reassuring lie category quite easily.
  15. Im not sure what you expect of me here Saul? Do I give a figure that I find works well, or do I give a figure that seems to be acceptable the world over according to the forums I frequent or is there a mystical figure you believe I should follow? If so do you care to share that figure with us?
  16. With my stihl Depth Gauge. Same as you I guess? For consistency I check each tooth with my 'calibrated ' ie, paid for calibrated mitutoyo Vernier gauges. Same as the rakers. I served my time in mechanical engineering, (second apprenticeship) first was a as a car mechanic. Ive spent a large portion of my career being being one of a very limited number who can handle explosives off-shore. So yes, I feel I have the jist of depth control.
  17. Maybe so. But Im yet to Mong a Chainsaw Milling. I guess a lot of this is subjective?
  18. The log I was milling was maxing out my 48” Mill. Elm log. 3m long. So say a 42” Log. Might not have been bang on half way through the log but certainly having to fill the tank each slab whilst buried in each slab, along with the oil tank. Then once out the cut I’m filling again on deck. Then again at some point in the cut. Maybe 880’s are better on fuel than the 088’s? Who knows. I’d like to think the chains are sharp Saul? [emoji16]
  19. 1.3l a tank full. So say a slab uses two tanks, thats £10 per slab. First cut is the scab, so thats another £10. The last log I milled I got 6 slabs outta the Log, so that would be £70 in Aspen. In petrol it would be under £19 plus oil so add £2-3 for that. Expect to use a chain for the day (not always but you have to be ready for metal when slabbing) . So another £65. Bar oil £20. So yes, an extra £50 can really cut into your margins for a days milling. All to save 5 minutes of tipping the last of the fuel out at the end of the day? Again, I'll stick with what Spud said.
  20. Reread it. Spud still said what I thought he said. Anyway, not everyone who has a big saw “hardly uses them” I’ve no long sold my 088 but used it regularly as it was for Milling. Quite a few folk here have 880’s for milling and use them extensively for that reason. Now I can’t speak for others but using Aspen in a Saw that needs refilling halfway through a single slab is simply not economical. So in light of that I’ll stick to what Spud said, and that’s drain your saws when not in use.
  21. He said to drain the tank, not that you should run Aspen....
  22. How on earth did you manage to get so much crap in the tank? I always clear the cap of debris before I open it. I 'liberate 'dust free' cans from work, so use that if there is a bunch of saw dust around the lip. I visually check the filter on a regular basis, but Im sure you do as well so Im guessing its not easy to visually see if its blocked? I look for the almost wicking effect when the filter dips in and out of the fuel and if you see the gauze you're good to go, but maybe thats a false sense of security?
  23. Damn, what a nightmare.
