  1. Im not sure what you expect of me here Saul? Do I give a figure that I find works well, or do I give a figure that seems to be acceptable the world over according to the forums I frequent or is there a mystical figure you believe I should follow? If so do you care to share that figure with us?
  2. With my stihl Depth Gauge. Same as you I guess? For consistency I check each tooth with my 'calibrated ' ie, paid for calibrated mitutoyo Vernier gauges. Same as the rakers. I served my time in mechanical engineering, (second apprenticeship) first was a as a car mechanic. Ive spent a large portion of my career being being one of a very limited number who can handle explosives off-shore. So yes, I feel I have the jist of depth control.
  3. Maybe so. But Im yet to Mong a Chainsaw Milling. I guess a lot of this is subjective?
  4. The log I was milling was maxing out my 48” Mill. Elm log. 3m long. So say a 42” Log. Might not have been bang on half way through the log but certainly having to fill the tank each slab whilst buried in each slab, along with the oil tank. Then once out the cut I’m filling again on deck. Then again at some point in the cut. Maybe 880’s are better on fuel than the 088’s? Who knows. I’d like to think the chains are sharp Saul? [emoji16]
  5. 1.3l a tank full. So say a slab uses two tanks, thats £10 per slab. First cut is the scab, so thats another £10. The last log I milled I got 6 slabs outta the Log, so that would be £70 in Aspen. In petrol it would be under £19 plus oil so add £2-3 for that. Expect to use a chain for the day (not always but you have to be ready for metal when slabbing) . So another £65. Bar oil £20. So yes, an extra £50 can really cut into your margins for a days milling. All to save 5 minutes of tipping the last of the fuel out at the end of the day? Again, I'll stick with what Spud said.
  6. Reread it. Spud still said what I thought he said. Anyway, not everyone who has a big saw “hardly uses them” I’ve no long sold my 088 but used it regularly as it was for Milling. Quite a few folk here have 880’s for milling and use them extensively for that reason. Now I can’t speak for others but using Aspen in a Saw that needs refilling halfway through a single slab is simply not economical. So in light of that I’ll stick to what Spud said, and that’s drain your saws when not in use.
  7. He said to drain the tank, not that you should run Aspen....
  8. How on earth did you manage to get so much crap in the tank? I always clear the cap of debris before I open it. I 'liberate 'dust free' cans from work, so use that if there is a bunch of saw dust around the lip. I visually check the filter on a regular basis, but Im sure you do as well so Im guessing its not easy to visually see if its blocked? I look for the almost wicking effect when the filter dips in and out of the fuel and if you see the gauze you're good to go, but maybe thats a false sense of security?
  9. Damn, what a nightmare.
  10. Completely agree, its a crock.
  11. Nah, the snug satisfaction is it’s own reward.
  12. Then find your bugbear and link it from a neutral source. Jerking off in your echo chamber then posting the link you got off to is just your personal wånkfest. We dont need to see what got you hot and bothered, The fact you and a few other nutcases rely on fringe and discredited sources is of no surprise to me.
  13. The London Economic - Media Bias/Fact Check MEDIABIASFACTCHECK.COM LEFT BIAS These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection... Not just left of center, but extreme left. Can you imagine anyone in any good faith expect someone to read something from the radical right, or left in good faith? Considering your empty attempt to disassociate yourself from the hard and radical left posting links to such outlets pooh poohs that weak as a tesco beer attempt quite easily. You must be on the cheap stuff again?
  14. Sounds like a love song. Polls in general are wånk. I'll reiterate that I see what is predicted for Scotland happening, for the very reasons I mentioned. Well thats a lie. It was not till 2/3rds through my monologe that I mentioned workshy. So gotch there ya lazy dole bum. Not sure if you've been so vocal on that before? Maybe you have? Perhaps we're more aligned that either of us would actually like to admit. Believe it or not I am 100% behind a Scottish Independence. I have never shied away from this or ever changed my tune on this subject. Every post Ive ever posted here has been in complete support of that. But I would rather be subjected to English rule than EU rule. I would also like to see a policy of the SNP tht was not based on hating anyone earning over £50k, or £85k or £100k. You might have a slightly closeted view on the general Scottish population as you not only live in the middle of feck all but also give the appearance on an actual island off of the middle of fecking no where. Now whilst Im slightly jealous as thats where I wanna be you seem to speak with an air of authority of what life is like in the 'real' Scotland. Out of interest, is your islands council a beneficiary or contributor to Scotland's economy?
  15. Yes you're right. I actually did. Its been a busy night. I do find it somewhat titillating that you would claim to see a Corbyn Government and a Johnson Government on an equal pegging. I doubt one person here believes that. Including you.
  16. Quote me where I asked if you where?
  17. Well, we'll see I guess? I'll feel a wee twinge in my panties if Trump looses to Seepy Joe and his Drug Bust kid. Looks like Rudy has that family firmly by the balls now. Lets see how that plays out. As I said, I dont doubt the SNP will do as well at the next election as the last. Their voter base is not remotely interested in politics and heavily vested in what they can get for free. The SNP need a scapegoat. Being tethered to England allows 'us' to focus our downfalls to the English (Tories if you like) The Barnett Formula, long a contention between us Scots and the English and I feel (we) Scots are justified in feeling its been a token gesture to placate a nation (in the 70's, 80's and 90's) The Guffs steal all our oil and we get a few pence back (im 100% behind this) But now we've been sucked (almost ) dry where are we gonna go now? Mull, you're heavy on empty soundbites and light on anything other than emojies and duff links. Im sure you have something more to come back with (surely?)
  18. Ive links to the contrary. You have 'no you' as a retort. Back to school for you wee man. Mull is it? Mong more like.
  19. Well, we're firmly on th same page regarding Labour. (surprisingly) They are/where at leats a laughing stock. At least Starner is a veneer of respectability and authority. Polls are wånk, all polls are wånk. Conformation bias for those that need that kinda conformation back-up. But I actually can see what you say has been predicted coming to fruition. Scotland is a country of greedy, freeloading soap dodging jakie bams. Is England to blame here? Perhaps. The reality ( in my mind) is the vast majority of the Scottish people have come to rely on the state. Be that the teat of the Tories (I'll assume the Tories plan all along) or now as the Tories have long lost their grip the SNP. The SNP panders the lowest common denominator. Thats the vast majority of the Scottish population. A sub-servient Sink Estate minimum wage or most likely dole bum that cling to the SNP's false hope of a better Scotland free of England Yoke. This works in the the vast majority of poor areas, but not so much where people earn a decent wage and have an education slightly above Gender Studies expressed through dance. The main two policies of the SNP are independence and taxing anyone who is paid higher than the vast majority of their voters more, again, and again, and again, ad infinitum. At the same time as taxing hard working folk to death denying them any of the perks the lazy seem to feel more than entitled to. Having lived and worked within the Norwegian Tax system for the last 11 years, and Norway is supposedly a shining beacon for Scotland, a country to emulate, the SNP fall down here massively. But the SNP have no intention of ever following the Norwegian/Scandinavian Model, the SNP need greedy, lazy and jealous voters to keep them in power, and the SNP are loathed to ever give that up. Ive been born and bred on the SNP. My fathers side where heavily involved in canvasing (or whatever its called) throughout my childhood. But for me its like having the scales lifted from my eyes. We vote for clowns in Scotland and are surprised we live in a circus.
  20. You've been suckered in by a scam website and Im a 'money man' for pointing out your whoopsie? You're a SNP fanboi right? You're also a 'money man', the big differenced you want the money other folk work hard to earn.
  21. EVOLVE EXPOSED: Former Editor of Evolve Politics speaks out and exposes culture of fake news WWW.POLITICALITE.COM A FORMER assistant editor of left-wing news website Evolve Politics has spoken out against the organisation and has... Evolve Politics rapped by Impress over inaccuracy in story alleging misconduct by Tory MP WWW.PRESSGAZETTE.CO.UK Press regulator Impress has ruled that news website Evolve Politics broke accuracy rules in an article about former work... Nice echo chamber there bud.
  22. A washed-up old has been that had a marginal influence and was hanging on by his coat tails (at best) and long due to have the whip removed from. Near enough 50 years as a Tory, he's a bit long in the tooth for me, and as an ardent advocate for the EU his position was no longer tangible when the people of the UK voted to leave the EU, then backed it up very clearly with a Tory vote when every swinging dick knew the last election was based on noting else. Interesting that in your opinion you dont align to either the Tories or Labour. So thats a straight down the line impartiality between the two parties? Or as a I alluded to do you favour one over the other?
  23. Like who? Do you find you align significantly more with Corbyns Labour than Jonsons Tory line up?
  24. If the 'left' needs a cluster feck like this to gain votes, then its not Labours actual policies that folk are voting for then my point remains. Lets not forget May utterly balls up Brexit and the Reds gained more seats that ever based on the claptrap Labour was touting.
