  1. Those headlines are all true Mark 😀 you not not like the Daily Mail or something !! lol.
  2. UK winter crisis: How fuel shortages, energy price hikes and an NHS backlog could cause chaos APPLE.NEWS Will the UK have a winter crisis? Wankers quite frankly
  3. Good Morning Britain and BBC Breakfast under fire over recurring theme APPLE.NEWS Both programmes were slammed by viewers over their handling of coverage relating to queues at... Quite god to see at least some are seeing through the Media sensationalism and hype that has created a problem rather than reporting on one.
  4. Regards the Static 3 phase type set up Big J is definitely far more clued up on that type of set up than myself. I spoke to him regards the set up of my own mill which helped tremendously before hitting the buy button. A few of the issues I’ve encountered he had experience of the same and engineered in his own solutions ie roller guide upgrade, the wider and thicker the blade the better I’d say too if it’s an option to upgrade. They are reassuringly built like tanks.
  5. Whey spec you looking for ? Mobile or static ??. I know the build times are getting quite long for certain models, mobiles with Honda power units are up to 12months I heard.
  6. If required J to keep going as a business I’d not bat en eyelid. To be honest I’ve not seen Commissioner’s on the road or a checkpoint since the start of the covid farce.
  7. Goal has been achieved now, next crisis will be created from bugger all in a few days by the media.
  8. Fuel supply crisis: Grant Shapps blames haulage group for creating 'manufactured situation' as pump chaos continues APPLE.NEWS The transport secretary has said "there's plenty of fuel" in the country as he urged motorists to... Not my favourite politician but he definitely called it how it is with the RHA today, cheap Eastern European drivers is exactly what they want and what contributed to driving many out of the industry in the first place.
  9. I do love a cynic Mike 👍👍very very true though. It is like you say quiet money ie no brashness or in your face opulence just ticking along living a good life and maintaining the status quo
  10. Assisted marvellously by a willing media and a gullible public. Shame the government seems to have folded albeit only for 5000 drivers.
  11. Yep tweaking 👍 full on socialism I think we all know historically is doomed to fail. The Scandinavian capitalism with a conscience is probably the only one I can look to as a success but I don’t think necessarily all those living with it would totally agree.
  12. Petrol giant Essar on brink of collapse APPLE.NEWS One of Britain’s biggest oil refineries is teetering on the brink of collapse, piling further... I think it’s about time the post Thatcherism full on free market thing needs a tweak. Yeah I’m conservative in my outlook and believe you should if possible stand on your own two feet etc, but have always been of the opinion that services and industries essential to a nations basic survival should be state owned. Andys analogy regards the sticking plaster being pulled off post brexit I think is not far off the mark.
  13. Like I say bud a period of rationing might be better for the NHS than an overpriced vaccination drive.
  14. Not as many as the press and politicians seem to think. Years and years of cuts have seen to that.
  15. Aberdeenshire to Shrewsbury 🤷‍♂️ too far, and by the sounds of it the panicking masses have listened to the news and emptied the tanks. Not to worry a handful of cheap Eastern European drivers will instantly solve the non crisis, or it will solve itself when the media move onto something else.
  16. Been out today, Diesel and petrol for the mill. Filled up at Buckie no queue no hassle. Absolute media driven shit of the highest order swallowed sadly by way too many.
  17. What you as a ltd company pay is the bare minimum you can get away with why do you think someone whom has made a few quid more than you should pay a higher percentage???. 25% across the board for all and I’ve said this before bud as you know 👍👍fair for all and would encourage hard work, currently I’m in the situation as are a good few I know of knocking work back as I’m sick and tired of working to pay 41% plus NI to wasteful fools and at the same time miss my kids growing up etc etc.
  18. Mark we’ve been here before with you and tax bud 🙄
  19. Why should we and how would taking this sort what ??? That’s the Corbyn/Abbot T shirt on then.
  20. When did I ever suggest that I’m the only one who knows it ??? The ability to know another mans thoughts is impressive 😳. The driver shortage is not exclusive to the UK by any means as I’m sure you are aware. You won’t see this argument or fact on Sky or the BBC unfortunately. Let’s see what next weeks crisis will be 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Apparently Mc Donald’s milk shakes are hard to come by too, if that shits your thing.
  21. I don’t see many skinny starving citizens on my travels 🤷‍♂️Bit of rationing might undo the damage caused by an excess of whatever people want and at same time ease burden on the NHS. Latest shit I’ve seen is dire warnings of 10 days to save Xmas ffs. It must be so easy for those writing the headlines to see what rubbish they can spoon feed to the masses.
  22. Pathetic if they fold on this, skilled labour ffs !!! can we not even train up some truck drivers 🤷‍♂️. RHA with a bit of media assistance get access to cheap labour from the EU. No hope unless this country starts to invest in its people for the long haul.
  23. CPC is and always has been utter bollocks. In all fairness most modern tractor units are quite comfortable for a nights kip. The biggest failing is in the standard of facilities available ie truck stops etc.
