1. Pfanner reds on wet slimey climbs but mostly bare hands...zigzags eat gloves
2. Totally agree.
3. There is no pre determined girth point where a wirecore lanyard use is recommended as its really up to the climber to determine when its use is appropriate. I know some guys who never use wirecore lanyards, ive rarely used mine. The point of it is its more rigid therefore easier to flip,so with that in mind id say if your having problems spiking up a stem as you cant flip your lanyard then a wirecore would be ideal. As for the grillion as far as im aware thats a petzl lanyard with a grigri on it,if its the grigri you mean, which is just a fancy rope grab, then id think it would work fine on a flipline but the grigri that comes with the grillion is only safety rated if used on the petzl grillion rope. Just petzl covering there arse incase anything goes tits up
4. Sounding a bit bitter there mate lol fortunatley i dont have one. For 200 quid id want it to be waterproof, bullet proof and kiss it better after a **** day...
5. Pfanner do jackets in xxs sizes great jackets but very pricey
6. Guy i subbed for couple of times was guilty of that, under pricing jobs just to get the work,of course we suffered having to go like madmen to get the job done quick to at least come out with some profit. Not heard a dickie bird off him in 7 months...
7. Best bars for forestry are the ones that serve pints after a crap day in the woods.
8. As above and id recommend an advanced first aid certificate too.
9. Bet that stung a wee bit eh.Was it a cut and hold injury? Hope you mend well, take care mate
10. Get the plastic anti scratch vizor, available for most types of lid.
11.
Hi mate,Robertson tree care are looking for staff, based in alloa i think.Dunno if its any use too you but just thought id put you onto it anyway.

12. I second that...an older 261 though,new ones are bolloxs
13. I often thought the same thing when your climbing a slimey sycamore on a wet day ....like today...wish id stuck in at school...
14. Best thing you can do is tell others how happy you were with him and his professionalism, maybe get him some more work.
15. Ive gone to the extent of wiping crud off cars with wet wipes after strimming/cutting near them. You've done a good deed by offering to pay for a valet,i think she's being a chancer.Chase her mate
16. Good idea with the strap from the bridge to the zigzag, ive used that for small ascents so your pulling under and through the zigzag rather than thrusting and tending slack. Gonna give that a bash tomorrow Nice one
17. I run a zigzag on tachyon 11.7mm and it self tends very well once you've got too a certain height when the weight of the rope will pull it through.I find it better than a Hc setup,no faffing with hitches and no sit back either. Its really smooth combined with pulley saver etc
18. As a person who works for my LA im unhappy too say that like other council's,mine is also run by officious desk jockies who prioritise justifying there own jobs and cutting back on services that need improved. The guys and gals on the front line get the **** end of the stick and joe public pay more for less... Too quote clint eastwood its a clusterf#@k
19. If thats the case then its pretty poor, those neighbours must have done something too piss those guys off though..ive thought the same thing more than a couple of times but never had the minerals to do it.
20. Was this story neighbourly gossip or do you know this for a fact...? It could be that these"so called tree surgeons"had an arrangement to drop off cuttings at the property.
21. Getting a new business off the ground up and running take a hell of a lot of work,be prepared to have no time for yourself nevermind your family plus all the stresses that go with it. Ive recently seen a good mate start his own venture and it looks bloody hard.I have the utmost respect for anyone who decides too take the leap and start up there own business so go into it with your eyes open and be prepared to work your bollocks off. If your confident in your capabilities go for it but make sure your family know the risks and are prepared to back you no matter what happens. Good luck mate
22. Yes it can
23. Not thst im aware of but you could search online in the big arb suppliers-frjonesandson,honey brothers, skyland equipment, buxtons etc.Good luck
