  1. Hahaha gas?!?! We aren't even on mains water!
  2. Ours used to be an intermittent and frustrating 0.5Mbps (about 5km from exchange). But about 2 years ago we got fibre in the village. It's been brilliant (45download 20up). I realise we are very lucky compared to a lot of rural communities!
  3. We are in the woods cutting... mostly [emoji12]
  4. Not really too much hook, just that the radius of the wheel is too tight so couldn't get a nice rounded gullet. Sharp cutting edge though, and had no trouble with keeping the teeth the same length.
  5. I got one of these sharpeners too. Just had a play and sharpened a couple of damaged chains quite quickly. Only thing I found is I needed to clean out the gullet with a file as the width of the cutting disk is too narrow for 3/8 chain. Didn't take long though, certainly quicker than doing the whole lot by hand. Bargain for £20!
  6. Scary! Don't think I'll ever deal with chequers again after hearing that! (Not that I do very much anyway)
  7. Yes I think you're right. In the op I just meant that the auction went up a bit higher than I was expecting it so, which is nice. But looks like I'll be looking for another buyer. [emoji35]
  8. Thanks for all the replies. Wow did not know about that cheque scam, I'll be aware and cautious of that one. Good to see it goes right sometimes!
  9. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I had a feeling something was up. Will demand cleared cheque cash or bank transfer and see if he still wants it.
  10. Thanks for the reply So a couriers paperwork should be enough?
  11. Cheers guys. Usually if something doesn't feel right it's best to steer clear. Wonder if anyone else has been stung via PayPal before? I'm guessing if it was a payment option in the auction it may be covered, but excepting it separately from eBay maybe not?
  12. Hi wood guys & gals Thought I might be able to tap into the Arbtalk wisdom pool. I've just sold a motorcycle on eBay for slightly more than I thought I would get. Then received a message from the winner of the auction asking how to pay for it. I sent one back saying cash or bank transfer when you collect it. He then said he lives too far away and won't be able to collect it and do I have a PayPal account. I then asked how he was planning to get the bike, and how was he going to sign the V5. To which he replied that he has bought over 60 bikes and used PayPal and not been present to sign the V5 and always sent a courier to pick up the bike. Does this sound dodgy? I wonder if it's easy to claim back the money through PayPal once he has received the bike? What are the rules about being present to sign the V5? Maybe I've read too many horror stories about the seller getting screwed over? Never had a bad experience myself. Appreciate any feedback. Cheers Simon
  13. I drank 6.5L whilst at work yesterday. Mostly water, I always take a litre of electrolytes too, find it helps stop cramps. Yes you can need up to a litre an hour if working hard in warm weather!
  14. My Spuderised 372 always puts a grin on my face, and usually means I'm felling something of decent size.
  15. LHD took me a week to feel completely normal driving about. Trick is to drive as close to the n/s as poss. Can see over most things for over taking, if not hang back just a little further and you can see. The bench seat makes it very easy to skooch across to grab your McD's ;-)
  16. I have done the trip from Vancouver to Banff and Jasper. Really very spectacular the whole way. We did a big loop over about 2weeks camping in early June, which to be honest was a bit early once up in the mountains (had some chilly weather and some snow) a lot of the hiking trails were still closed. But it was quiet. Worth spending couple of days in Vancouver, beautiful city, clean, friendly, small enough to walk around. We went through Okanagan valley, very beautiful wine country, not what you'd expect in BC! Found Banff a bit 'disney-esque' nice enough but very geared up to tourists. Banff National Park was stunning though and the Icefields Parkway is spectacular the whole way up to Jasper. We preferred Jasper NP as it was quieter and felt more wild. Drove back to Vancouver over a couple of days via Mt Robson, Lillooet, Squamish. Again spectacular the whole way with amazing views. Hope that helps
  17. Nice one Steve! All the best for the new business. I will certainly be using you again and will recommend wherever possible. Merry Xmas to you and yours.
  18. [emoji106][emoji106] Enough said [emoji6]
  19. The sound of hinge wood fibres pulling like a creaky door, then the BOOM of a big tree hitting the ground exactly where you wanted it having made perfect cuts. Don't think I'll ever tire of that.
  20. Nice. I did wonder about that stump as all the others looked nice and low. Good to see you're thinking ahead [emoji106]
