  1. Looked like fun, thanks for sharing.
  2. I second all that is said above. If you're thinking of getting a saw ported, I say give it a go. Money well spent and puts a smile on your face every time you use it!
  3. Beautiful Owl. Really good work.
  4. Great video, love all the different camera angles. Would cutting the wood at same/similar lengths make things easier than having all the long lengths sticking out?
  5. One came into the kitchen this evening and I realised its the first one I've seen in ages. Lots of hornets in the woods though, but we are working a windblow site at the moment. Someone told me they like making nests in upturned root plates?
  6. I agree! My boss seems to think there is no alternative for some silly reason, he's not the one trying to start the bloody things on a hot day in the woods when they keep cutting out! Very good saws when running well, the newer ones seem better, but I wouldn't put my own money on one.

    Ticks

For the last couple of years I've been spraying my clothes with Pemethrin. The life systems EX4 spray, it's a bit expensive but seems to work quite well. Only had one bite me so far this summer which is good for being in the woods 5 days a week. They used to call me the 'tick magnet'!
  8. Beautiful work! When I scrolled down and saw the photos I said 'wow!' out loud so had to show the missus as well ;-) I'd agree with the majority for price, £800-£1000 seems a fair value.
  9. Use a 560 on 15" mostly but also a 346 on 15" when the 560 lets me down! If felling larger stuff use a 372 on 20" or 390 on 24" But day to day it's a 50cc or 60cc on 15"
  10. Very nice :-) Those pesky fuel lines. Hopefully the 372 shouldn't have that problem as I replaced it not long ago.
  11. Sounds like it's not oiling. Check the oil hole on the bar is clear and that oil is coming out when reving the saw
  12. Wow. Quite a bit of destruction there!
  13. Excellent! I had to look closely to see if it was carved!
  14. I've got to agree. Love the sound (and feel) of a big tree hitting the deck!
  15. Hi All, Been a lurker for a while and thought it's about time I chipped in. Been working a couple of years for a Contractor, predominantly forestry with some domestic tree work now and then. Lots of planting, hedgelaying and hand cutting work keeps us going. Everyone seems to have a good laugh in here so I thought I'd join in. Cheers
